I need some help vBF:2

OK so I just re-installed BF:2 after some problems on my new comp pached it and updated PB but ever time I click to join a sever it crashes I have no idea whats doing this no errors at all and my new rig should be able to handle it easy:

Processor:AMD Phenom II X4 955 3.2GHz
Memory: 4GB RAM
Video Card: Gigabyte ATI Radeon HD 4890
Speakers/Headphones:Logitech USB Headset
Operating System:Windows XP Home Edition
Motherboard:Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P
Computer Case:Antec 900

Can anyone help please I realy want to get back in to PR but theirs no point starting DL'ing if normal wont even run.

Complete Reinstall, And do it manually, just Search Manual BF2 Uninstall on google, wipe every trace of BF2 off your computer, Reboot, then Reinstall, Thats what I did when I had that problem.

Their is always an error if the program stops unexpectedly.
Try the following:

-Start menu

-Control panel

-Administrative tools

-Event viewer

-Application

Look back at the last date you tried playing and look for any Red "X"'s. if you find any then post the details of them here.

Don’t re-install everything till you troubleshoot.....

It's a corrupt install, no telling why but it does it every once in a while as you install.

Do like smartboy said and uninstall BF2, patch, and PR. Then restart. Then install BF2, patch 1.41, PR core, PR levels, in that order. If you use the .850 patch on the older version of PR, install it last. But this has to be done in order.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Each install you do, make sure you right click the installer and "run as admin" with Vista.

Also... Make sure you download PB HERE and run updater after you finish installing. Then no matter what graphic card you have, set textures to medium before you start any map.
