PR CTD/GFX Issues

Post by BLuDKLoT »

Hello everyone,

I just installed PR. My initial load put me into a game, but my GFX were just colored static, it was wicked sick but corrupt no less. It was only happening to my character/weapon, the surrounding textures looked ok, but I CTD before I got a real good look.

On every subsequent load after that, I get as far as loading client data, and just when its about to load me into the map, I go right to CTD.

My specs are below. Any help would be appreciated. I would love to give this Mod a try. My BF2 install, AIX and other mods/games all play fine. My only issue is with PR. I would also like to say, I installed this when it first came out and had the same issues. I uninstalled due to frustration, but I really want to get this working. Does anyone have a fix for this?

Respectfully,

Scott

Try running battlefield cleaner to flush out your video cache files.
Hope it helps

Re: PR CTD FIX

Ok,

So I found a solution that seems to work for me (until I try to run XFire) but here it is:
(Stole fix from some dood, sorry I couldn't find you again to give u the credit!)

Start PR
When you get to the login screen, ctrl-alt-del into the Task Manager
Navaigate to Processes tab
Find BF2.exe AND PR.exe
Right click and select affinity> uncheck ALL the boxes except "0" for both processes (for me its 0-4 / 0 remains checked)
Close task manager and login to PR - You should be good to go!

This works with all my GFX maxed out, some suggest you need to set to medium settings and lower Res, but not the case for me. FYI.

Hope this helps you guys too.
