Just pissing me off..

Post by catlinwester »

I Played PR for the first time last night (loved it). I had no problems whatsoever. Went to bed and woke up this morning to play some more, and as soon as i try joining, the load times are extremely slow. As soon as I get to the Squad Assignment button, I hover over it with my mouse and nothing happens. If I click the button nothing happens and about 30 seconds later I get kicked by PunkBuster. I read all the stickies and have already updated PB and re-installed as well. It pisses me off how it can work one minutes and the next nothing works. I've tried all this over 20 times and every time the same thing happens. I've restarted computer, ran a virus scan, and defraged the drive. Any ideas?

I found this usually happened when a 3rd party piece of software was getting in the way, namely my firewall. Make sure that if you have some form of application control, it allows Punkbusters A and B and allows other relevant applications to run too.

You could try this too:

Select Punkbuster B, right click, select properties, select the recovery tab and make sure they all say "Restart the service" for all three dropdowns. You can do the same for PB A, but generally speaking, it's the B client that stops responding. Any time you update PB, you may need to re-do this step.
