Ever since i had a complete re-install of my system, i wiped my desktop so it just had bf2 & pr. (all my devving is done on this laptop)
The game runs fine but all my textures are low quality, whicch i hate. I have tried re-installing gfx drivers and manually editing the profile settings notepad file.
I am guessing it may have something to do with the 'legacy drivers' ati provide because apparently my card is too outdated to warrant its own drivers:

i am guessing you have already checked your laptop's manufacturer page.
make sure XP is up-to-date
have you tried using the drivers suggested by "Windows Update" yet?
Device Manger -> right click on gfx -> Update Driver -> let it use internet to seek a driver
maybe worth a try?
