Alt-Tab hotfix and server MD5 checks
Hey guys! I played a bit of PR the other day after I downloaded the 1.5 Alt-tabbing hotfix. Was flying solo in a Littlebird on Muttrah when I suddenly got PB-kicked when the server did an MD5 check and faulted the Rend file the hotfix had updated. I shuddered at the thought of the disaster had I been flying a full helicopter, so I've been holding off on playing PR while I wait for servers to update their PB.
Which begs the question; which servers have updated since the hotfix so that folks don't get PB kicked, if any?

Yuh but servers need to update their PB files as well as this is an official fix. If people are being kicked for MD5 checks on the fix it is because the server hasn't been updated.[R-CON]Outlawz wrote:You need to update, the alt+tab fix is client side.
Also if you notice he did actually say he had already updated...

Downloaded the hotfix last night. Played on a TG server for an hour today and it seemed to work fine. Switched over to a Chicago server and it MD5 Tooled me....
Hopefully they update

Re: Alt-Tab hotfix and server MD5 checks
It's not that the servers need to not run MD5 checks, the issue is that PR Devs released a server side fix to add the MD5 sum of the official fix. If the server has not been updated it will still kick, servers like TG have updated and will not kick users who are using the official fix for MD5 checks because the MD5 sum is listed as valid.N.Kuntze wrote:Can sb. please release a list of all Servers, which DON'T run MD5 Checks ?

Re: Alt-Tab hotfix and server MD5 checks
I alt+tab in FH2 and it crashed - now my shaders are strange and it says shader.zip or something cant be moved to a different folder when starting fh2.
Has this something to do with alt tab?
Has anyone a solution? I heard from some ingame I have to rename shaders-backup or something...

Re: Alt-Tab hotfix and server MD5 checks
Only the server admins will know whether the server was updated. If you get a MD5 kick now you are probably on a server that hasn't updated. Most of them should have updated by now, so the easiest way to know is to join the server and play, maybe ask and admin that is on or someone playing if they are aware.N.Kuntze wrote:@snoogums
