Computer Issues

Post by z0MbA »

Hello
Recently i found out one of my Hard drives that i never installed was broken for a lack of better words. Not thinking anything was wrong with it (because it wasn't installed) i continued to use the one i did have installed

This one however recently failed and i was not able to do anything on my computer. I sent it in to staples and they had to erase all my installed programs (which was lame reisntalling) and sent it back to me in the same condition it was in when i first got it. (i didn't build a computer because i fail :( )

Everything is fine except one problem i experienced when i first purchased the computer is happening now.

Whenever i try to play games i bought, but downloaded straight to my computer (i.e. All of my games on Steam and Bf2142) my computer will crash to a blue screen saying "windows has deteced a problem and has shut down to prevent damage....if this is your first time seeing this restart your computer...if u see it again go to the BIOS settings and disable caching and shadowing...beginning memory dump.

My problem is that i cannot locate the BIOS menu, when i start my computer in the corner it says "F2 = setup" which i have gone through many times changing settings and messing with which sometimes ends up with the computer going to the blue screen before windows even starts.
I was wondering has anyone else had this problem? Any ideas where i can locate my BIOS menu or turn of Caching and Shadowing some other way? Is caching and shadowing not the problem?

Thanks in Advance and i can post a screenshot if needed

F2 is your BIOS......

Basically in there if you have caused windows to BSOD before it even starts, your fiddling with the wrong things and things that only advanced users should fiddle with.

If you're within warranty, take it back to wherever you got it from and get them to fix it before you end up massively breaking something from fiddling about in the BIOS.
