Weapon Power
IDK if there is another forum for this (if there is plz site) but in the game does each weapon have a different strength? If so can you list an order of the weapon strengths?
Example...
1- G3
2-M40
3-SVD
4-AK 47
5-AK-74
etc...

Re: Weapon Power
Just research the weapons and the calibers they use. It is as simple as typing the weapon's name into Google or Wikipedia.

Re: Weapon Power
If you mean by its killing power, then all weapons would be categorized by the caliber that it uses.
So, a G3 and an AK47 would possess roughly the same killing power, while the M16/L85/AK74 would be all equally be placed below the G3 and AK47 in terms of killing power.
Hope that helps

Re: Weapon Power
Actually, a G3 would have more power than the AK, due to it being a more powerful round, even though it's the same (.30) caliber. 7.62x51 vs. 7.62x39 .
The others would be somewhat equal, I assume.

Re: Weapon Power
Ghost1800 is correct, it is 7.62 x 39mm 1943. But you are correct re: the G3; it has a longer range in game than the weapons with 7.62mm M1943 rounds.TmanEd wrote:Actually, a G3 would have more power than the AK, due to it being a more powerful round, even though it's the same (.30) caliber. 7.62x51 vs. 7.62x32 .

Re: Weapon Power
Nedlands has a spreadsheet with all the weapons damages and range tables correct for 0.75 at the least. You should message him.
It's interesting to note that the .303 did the same damage as an AK until recently. I still don't think it's up to scratch from memory though.

Have you got any source that can confirm this?OriginalWarrior wrote:Its the same round but the M249 rounds have more gun powder in it for longer ranges.

Re: Weapon Power
Uh . . . where do you get that idea? Both use the standard M855 (STANAG SS109) 5.56 x 45mm NATO ball cartridge.OriginalWarrior wrote:Well in that case the M249 should have greater range than the M16. Its the same round but the M249 rounds have more gun powder in it for longer ranges.

Re: Weapon Power
As I said before I know of ballistics and I just noticed a message from one of the admins and they said they did not incorporate ballistic power or range in the game.
What they did is just do individual weapon power and ranges. For example the G3 is more powerful than the M16/M4 but has more kick to it. AK 47 is more powerful than the M16/M4 and AK 74 but is not very accurate but has a lot of bullet drop etc...
and for the whole gunpowder thing... the SAW uses the same rounds as the M16/M4 M193 55gr 5.56 bullet. However it may also be loaded with tracers M856 64gr bullet and M855 the AP 62gr bullet maybe thats what you were thinking about? But there wouldn't be a change in distance for the bullet. Also just because a bullet has more gunpowder in it does not necessarily mean it will go farther. The reason why they have more gun powder is because the bullet is heavier than the standard bullet. They will go the same distance and have relatively the same flight pattern. Some may have more penetrating power but thats for a different discussion if you want to talk ballistics personal message me...
so getting back on topic does anyone have a list/order of the weapon power? Someone said another user but how would I message him?

Re: Weapon Power
the ballistics are garbage on .87 wht you guys need to do is actually fire an ar 15 to discover tht when you are 2 feet away from somebody ...its near impossible to miss . garbage, hope like hell you fix these horrendous ballistics in vers 9 if not then i suppose you will lose someone who has supported this mod for many years.

Re: Weapon Power
That has nothing to do with ballistics. It's mainly about stress and most importantly engine limitations.
Welcome to the forums, though. I hope you'll stay even though they won't get the deviation perfect. I mean, 0.6 and earlier was no deviation at all. That's unrealistic of course. From all versions after that, I think 0.87 has the most acceptable deviation.

Re: Weapon Power
no i think it has more to do with the fact tht nerf guns and water pistols have diff "deviations" than real firearms this mod is supposed to be "realistic" there is absolutly nothing realistic about how these weapons perform they are more like toys or throwing a frikin rock which i am also confident i could hit u with a rock at 2 frikin feet away
