Cannot play in university halls of residence

title says it all really, moved into halls of residence two weeks ago, tried to play PR today, and it just wouldnt sign in.

can anyone think of what might cause this or fix it?

any help would be appreciated cos i really want to get it working having just signed up for the PRT

yeah they have blocked gaming ports

Contact the University Tech department.I had a similar problem a while back when internet security was upgraded on post. They most likely blocking all non-essential ports to prevent Peer to Peer stuff and prevent the university from having to deal with legal issues.

Depending on your University they may not unblock the ports for you, shitty i know.

Yeah it's usual to block BF2 ports, as there's so many of them. This was a problem for me at a point.
"Don't worry, you can still play CS etc" was the reply i got. Over-the-top security-concerned way-to-old IT-manager. Kept me out of the game for 6 months, and was one important reason i moved - even tho it was ridiculously cheap. About one month after i moved into new flat, i get a email saying they opened the ports :/

Ask your parents how they feel about this. Forget about PR for a while and then have a blast when you go home for Christmas break and summer...

my soloution was to get into a house instead of halls ;)

its in nottingham uni, and thanks for the replys, ill try and contact it support, tho i guess i shouldnt be too hopeful
