Map Suggestion (From DCR)
If any of you remember DCR ther was a map that had a crashed hercules is a canyon, a smallish town and a US camp. I really did live this map, It use to involve alot of teamwork from the US to secure the site as it was closer to the Opp base and they had access to a BPN(Something along those lines)
The Crash site flag area had some nice cover, the body of the plain, the O shape provides nice shelter from snipers. There were 2-3 houses around the rim that were good tactical spots for dropoffs and attacking. There were lots of rocks scattered about for easy cover and smoke was used alot with healing and rearming teammates.
The US base consisted of a little bird and 2 Black hawks, 1 Hummer Mg and 1 Hummer TOW. The camp was a distance away from the crash site making walking impractical, the lack of paracutes meant that if a shopper was damaged the pilot would have to try to land(Those were fun when everybody bails out just at the last second then has to walk. The Hummer TOW was the only decent way of removing the BPN, It was a 1 shot kill and the tank had really long respawn time.
The map had a few AA implacments scattered around. The Opp started in a town that wasnt used really on this map but moreso in another version of the map. The main objective was to capture the crash site. The were only given pickup trucks to get from the town to the site as it was alot closer.
There were also specalist kits at the US base with more weapons + a parachute. Guns like the M14 and such were in these kits.
The other version of the map consisted of the US attacking the town. The US would have 2 Bradleys , 2 hummers I think. there were 3-4 flags in the town. The town was a trouble area for the tanks as the town walls were accessable and AT kits liked to hide up there.
Needless to say I really enjoyed the first senario and I really had alot of fun down in that crash site defending it.

Looks alright. I think the Herc model could be a little better, perhaps incorporating the whole body of the plane a little better, kinda like the one from that night map on Special Forces, except, well, crashed a bit more. It'd make for some interesting cover, especially with all the little windows that players could fire from and all the cargo that could be left in there. A well designed Herc wreck would make a great addition to a lot of maps.
USMC team needs to recover Herc wreck to check for survivors and retrieve supplies, MEC locals (or PLA
) are checking out what all the fuss is about by heading down into the canyon. A battle ensues. I like this idea a lot.

I don't particulary think PR should copy the scenario to the bone, but the concept of having sides fighting over some wreck would be nice. I would prefer a much larger plane, such as the Galaxy or something. It could be over some snowy mountain in northern China, so you end up with some really treacherous terrain. The sides in specific could be U.S paratroopers who might have made an immediate drop down on the crash site to secure it until a nearby unit arrives. And some massive Chinese division try and take it. The U.S team simply starts off with just the crash site and maybe a few "perimeter" flags around the site. While the Chinese strikes from the south or something.Butmonkey wrote:If any of you remember DCR ther was a map that had a crashed hercules is a canyon, a smallish town and a US camp.
