So Ive moved up to Win 7 64bit, anyways I install BF2 then try and install the 1.5 patch and it says I already have a newer version installed.... So I searched around and did a reg hack adding a Versions 1.4 string in the registry, that seemed to work. Now (after multiple problems fixed) Ive hit the wall. It says my CD key is not valid... Ive tried multiple things all which ive found all over the net. But none seem to help. I cant help but think its tied to the reg hack. Anyone know? Id really like to get back to some PR.
Thanks

Re: 1.5 install issues then "Your CD key is not valid"
Make sure your using the final version of 1.41 and 1.5
BF2 not updated to v 1.41 before patching with v1.5?
FULL update 1.41
Final v1.5[/COLOR]
Some have posted Updating with the
1.41 update
Sometimes does not complete, but looks like it does.
To find your version of BF2
run PR in 'windowed' mode
Look at the upper left corner
you should see
v.1.5.3153-802.0
Using any hack is just asking for trouble
I suggest uninstalling PR and BF2
Use your DVD/CDs or download the online version (it's free if you have a valid BF2 account) from EA
Installation timeline
1. Install BF2
-----------------
BF2:SF Expansion | --- If you have BF2:SF, here is where it should be installed.
----------------
2. Install Battlefield 2 v1.41
3. Install Battlefield 2 v1.5
4. Install the latest PR Build (Currently: v0.874)
( from Project Reality v0.87 Installation Guide)
Good luck

Re: 1.5 install issues then "Your CD key is not valid"
ya tried that, now i have a new problem, I uninstalled everything and tried installing again (I even fallowed EA's instructions on how to completely remove bf2 and its reg entrys) but when all is done installing and it moves on the the voip setup screen where you move the sliders up and down to tweak its settings it freezes after i hit save then is says bf2voipserver.exe has failed. So I continue on and finish the install and all works the cd key has no more problems, however no one can here me in game Im thinking because the voip stuff failed... anyone know whats going on and why the voip shit crashes?

Test audio in windows.
Try recording a small file with your mike.
Turning on 'mike boost' in Vista fixed my voip a few times too.
After successful recording you should be able to run the voip setup again I think.
For me (Vista) having mike boost on ( in windows and in game setup) was key.
Good luck
