Crashing to desktop when joining a server/Fixed!

I am having a problem with PR as it CTD as soon as I try to join a server. I have everything on max, no AA. This always worked on Windows Vista with no problems.
I actually put PR back by putting a backed up pr directory, which worked the last time I reinstalled Vista.
I am actually redownloading PR at the moment, but I am afraid that with the reinstall it will still crash to desktop.
Also I am getting no error message what so ever.
I have the EA downloader version.
System (maybe useful):
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 at stock speed.
8GB Ram
2x 500GB Sata, 1x 160GB IDE
nVidia 8800GTS/512
And of course Windows 7 x64 Ultimate.
Edit again:
Tried running as admin, running in Xp comp mode, Textures on medium, using a non-widescreen resolution.
I still have to try the reinstall (as it is downloading atm).

A reinstall did not work, still CTD when trying to join a server.

I also found it this problem is BF2 related as when starting vBF2 and joining a server I also get a CTD.

I solved the problem. The problem was that I found out were EA Downloader put the installed file I backed it up and ran that file. However you need to run the installer from EA Downloader itself and not the standalone installer EA Downloader pulls in.
So this is the sollution (when using a EA Downloader version of BF2):
1. Redownload it through EA downloader
2. Click the install button inside EA Downloader and run the installer through
3. Patch to 1.41
4. Patch to 1.50
5. Install PR
6. Update PB

I don't have the EA downloader, I get no errors, just BOOM, I crash to the destkope.

Ive always had it with vista and now win7 i can join and play the first game no problem and then it iwll load the next map and as soon as i click join it crashes. Im used to it now though and just close as soon as the round ends and start it back up again.
