New CPU

Post by Froggy »

Hi,

I'm looking to buy a new CPU since the current one I have is a bit out-dated and cannot run PR on anything above medium graphics settings. Before you say "Upgrade it," I have put a new graphics card in and I have purchased RAM for it, but something with the motherboard, $500 dollars later... you know.

I'm running an awesome monitor, no need for a new one. I'd like it to have about 4GB of RAM on board, a graphics card either running 512 to 1GB (depends on the Double Data Rate), and at least a dual core processor running no less than 2.5Ghz. OS wise, I'd have to say Windows 7. I've seen some that look good for the price, but I wanted to broaden my horizons. If it's a smokin' deal, I'll take the monitor too. And One last thing, the retailer needs to be U.S. based so I can get the name and find a local shop that might have it and check it out there.

Heres the one I was looking at: click here

Thanks,

That computer you picked out is fine if you don't wish to do any serious gaming. BF2 and PR should run fine, if you buy a graphics card with it (or if your old one is sufficient, for the computer's built in graphics is insufficient. If you wish to do more processor - intensive tasks, you might want to buy a computer with a better processor.
