Dual Core/Crash to desktop/freez/discolor

Somewhat of a mixed problem here

All help will be greatly appreciated!

Specs;

Abit AW8D
Intel Pentium D 820 2.8Ghz (dual core)
EVGA e-GeForce 8800 GT 512mb
3GB Ram
120 HD
Corsair 450W PS


Ok this is what's going on. I just upgraded my CPU from an Intel P 4 2.9Ghz (single core) to an Intel P D dual core.
I'm showing two graphs in the Task Manager and my bios as well as windows is recognizing the cpu.
When I'm playing either BF2, FH2, or PR the game will either crash or freez. Before the game crashes, sometimes the colors get all weird, like the runway will turn blue or purple and some buildings will become black. Just weird color all around.
Everything was working fine till I installed the CPU.

I've installed the MO drives and updated the BIOS but I cannot tell what is going on.

Pls help?

I really dunno why im saying this but update gfx drivers and see if that works

Thanks for the advise. I did see that I missed out a newer verison for my gfx card but it did not do the trick.

I'm going to reinstall Windows and see what happens, I hope that will fix it. If not, I'll be back.

Ok, I fixed it!

It was either two things I did wrong...

1 - Placed wrong values for CPU at BIOS

2 - And the most likely issue was DIRECTX 10 for XP! I think that sucker messed up something so careful if you want to install it.
