[?] 3dsMax 2010 exporting fix yet?

Title says it all, Just wondering if there has been a release of a fix for the errors generated when you try to export in 3ds max anything above max 8.

the latest version of Max you can safley export with is Max9 (32bit), not max 2009.

this is getting pathetic! this game is a pain in the *** to mod if your running vista/in general.

Too bad this is the only game engine we can work with >.>

so if I get max9 (i have max8 and max10 go figure) I should be able to export in it while running vista 64 ultimate...right?

if not I'm going to go punch something for a while cursing microsoft and DICE.

Cant you just open it with max8 and export it from there?

Tried, I can't seem to get .dds files to work in Max8 though.

Can't find a fix for it, the issue appears to be vista on the forums I could find.

I just need to buy a copy of XP this is just dumb :evil:

working on the editor on vista 64 is also a joke.

Or have 3DSMAX 9 with SP2 pack, it works fine with Vista. I assume 3DSMAX 32 bits works on Vista 64 bits, isn't it ?

mmm I don't know, I can export with 8 with vista 64, however I can't figure out/find a fix to make it able to read .dds formats.

I've also Vista, and 3DSMAX 9 didn't read dds files before I installed the SP2 pack. Now it's fine.
I guess it's the same issue in your case. :-)

if you have a problem with it you can always make some new scripts to work with Max 2010.

Also I dont belive Max9 SP2 x64 doesn't work fully.

Well, I went and made a periscope model in Max 10. I can export in Max 8 BUT...and this is a big but, I can't open a .max file in Max 8 that was saved in 10 >.>

so LAME!

Oh well, I'm getting the hang of all this **** thankfully.

I did some searching and I doubt that rexman is going to compile new BF2 tools anytime soon for the new 3ds. Guess I'll just have to start modeling in Max 8 or 9 for bf2.

on a side note, anyone know any in depth tutorials on how I can get that periscope into the editor and into the game. I found the thread where he shows the hierarchy but really didn't explain it to me what each object did and or was or how to get there.

Just a FYI I do anything bf2 related in Max 9, other will go through the export/import process but for me its too much **** that could go wrong.

yep, lots of issues need to be cleaned up after the export/import process.
