Cannot login - "Error creating a socket" with Mumble on

Post by starstriker1 »

Up until VERY recently, I've had no problems running Mumble and PR side-by-side. To my recollection, no significant software changes have been made on my end, though it's possible (yet unlikely) that a change has been made on the router without my knowledge. No, whenever I attempt to log in with Mumble on I get a message saying the there has been an "error creating a socket", blocking me from playing the game with Mumble. The error does NOT appear if the mumble app has not been started, and it doesn't matter if Mumble has been connected to a server or not. This happens reliably, yet if debug messages are being output to a log somewhere I haven't been able to find them.

Antivirus and firewall program is Norton 360, but I've done the legwork and I'm confident it isn't the problem. Program allowances have already been made, and attempts done with the firewall entirely off.

My thoughts are that either something has goofed with the connection between Mumble and PR or for some reason Mumble is blocking up the port PR needs. Anyone have any idea what might have caused this and how it can be fixed? I'm eager to get back into PR, but I'm reluctant to get going without Mumble since it's now being widely used on the Tactical Gamer server.
