Limited M240B Kit?? GPMG Kit

Post by Hellbrawler »

I remember posting a suggestion about a M240 kit without realizing the use of it. So since you guys say the M240 is a platoon level kit, perhaps make it a limited kit?

1.)The m240B or other variants depending on the country would be a limited kit of 2 per team

2.) It will be heavy, making the sprint time shorter, but the M240B would be more powerful than the LMG.

(This is strictly to nations that actually use it, eg. NATO. As for other countries like Russia or China, maybe guys that are there can share some examples of GPMG's in their armies?)

iirc the m240 is currently being modelled.

afaik it will be vehicle mounted, but it could be cool as a HMG limited kit imo.

Locked. So very very locked.

Man portable GPMGs generally and the FN MAG specificially have been suggested far to many times before.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

There are, of course, equivalents. PKM, QJY88...

However, lots of people in the MG3 highlights thread were talking about making an M240 to "balance" out the MG3. There seems to be a big misconception floating around that every faction portrayed in PR would, in real life, assign weapons the exact same way as the US military.

The M240B is mainly a platoon based weapon. So your suggestion of having 2 max is spot on. However, if you look at how Russia assigns the PKM or how Turkey/Pakistan assign the MG3. In these cases, what we can consider a "GPMG" is based at the squad/section level.

Either way, we'll be coming up with something in the future I'm sure. Locked.
