PR Crashes
When I connect to a server and the load completes, PR crashes. I get no message or anything. I got the correct BF2 version and all that. Some help would be appreciated.
Thanks in Advance.

Re: PR Crashes
I second that.
It happens even with UAC and DEP disabled, running in compatibility mode, administrator right and updated punkbuster.
Please help.

Re: PR Crashes
Set everything to minimal, still, the same thing.
All works fine in single player and LAN, it only happens when a map online is joined.

Re: PR Crashes
It has nothing to do with graphical stuff. It's some kind of incompatibility or weird admin settings for W7 I'm guessing, since I never had this problem on XP.
EDIT:
Just found a fix that seems to work for me. My shortcut file was missing the following parameter in the target line:
+modPath/pr +menu 1 +fullscreen 1

Re: PR Crashes
This same problem seems to stem from some kind of installation error combined with a network error...try reinstalling BF2 and PR, completely, then installing BF2, patching to 1.41, patching to 1.5, then installing PR. Also, rename the Battlefield 2 folder @ My Documents.Gotrol wrote:=)

BTW, try this too:
Run BF2/PR in windowed mode. Go to the target for the PR shortcut, (right click shortcut, click Properties, then click in the target box), and change the entire target to this:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe" +fullscreen 0 +szx 1024 +szy 768
Now try starting the game. Note that PR WILL NOT run at a resolution less than 1024 by 768.
If it still doesn't work, go rename the "Battlefield 2" folder @ My Documents and try again.
Also, did you install the latest drivers from here for your videocard?: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
Try installing the latest DirectX: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
Did you patch BF2 to 1.41, then to 1.5? You must do that.
What type of monitor do you have? What is its dimensions and aspect ratio? What is its refresh rate? Sometimes problems occur like this because the refresh rate is set incorrectly.
Go to My Documents\Battlefield 2\profiles\Default and open Video.con. See what the line
VideoSettings.setResolution
is set to, and change it to whatever your desktop is running at. You can check this by
Right click on desktop -> Screen resolution -> Advanced settings -> Monitor tab -> screen refresh rate
For instance, if your res+refresh was 1280x1024 at 75hz, then you would set the above line to the following:
VideoSettings.setResolution 1280x1024@75Hz
Then remove the flags from the PR icon's target and try starting the game.

Re: PR Crashes
Thank you,
I do have all the latest drivers and whatsoever, yet it seems to be related to network as running LAN and SP causes no problem.
Below is what i get as a report:
C:\Program Files\Battlefield 2
PR command line args sent to BF2: +modPath mods/pr +menu 1 +fullscreen 1
gloryhoundz.com directory not found, deletion confirmed
Saved original BF2 splash screen as 00000000.256.original
Copy PR Splash screen 00000000.256 to main BF2 directory
Launching BF2
BF2 Exiting
PR Splash screen stored at C:\Program Files\Battlefield 2/mods/pr/00000000.256 , moved copy deleted
Saved original BF2 splash screen as 00000000.256
Deleted back up splash screen
Deleting news ticker directory: Deleted C:\Users\Artem\Documents/Battlefield 2/LogoCache/www.gloryhoundz.com
Thanks again, reinstalling would be my last resource.

Re: PR Crashes
That is a report for the pr.exe, and it basically says everything with that is fine.

Re: PR Crashes
What it means is that it is a BF2 problem.
Sounds like a memory issue.

Re: PR Crashes
I seem to be having the same issue. Any suggestions?
Specs for pc:
Windows 7 fully patched
I5quadcore 2.8
4gb RAM
Nvidea 7800 GT
I manually updated punkbuster already.
I have the latest driver for my graphics card.
I patched up pr to 1.5.
Any help would be appreciated
