(Knife) Attacks

Post by Redamare »

EDITED***

There are two differnt types of knife attacks in PR one is a Stab sort of movment MEC and the other is a slice movment for USA.

Would it be possible to Combine two types of knife attacks?? such as

Right click Normal Attack
Left click Slice attack

or any combonation of that matter. Its not a real big issue but it would 1 give the right mouse click a use in knife mode :) and 2 ... it would just raise the fun level of knifing some guy in the Face :D

Also ... while you have the restaints .... you can now Back hand Civis with you Fists of fury :D now dont tell me you dont want to do that

**** I love the first Post :D it doesnt instantly kill the enemy it only makes them bleed out untill a point you knife them 3 times or somthing that would be good too and muuch more realistic...
or
JAb would be a much slower attack bringing the enemy to Bleed out mode slice would be faster not as powerfull attacks

it would be nice to see how the Machete in African forces would play out :D mabey give the insergent officers a sword? haha... and the French a saber lol (Fun for thaught) Jk about the french saber though ^_^

"Melee combat is going under the knife for 0.9 ;) " ( AKA .. BEING WORKED ON )
Thank you [RDev] Chuc

Right click should turn the knife into a lightsaber.

One that launches pitbulls.

What's the point of having this, anyway? Right click doesn't NEED a use, and how does it make knifing more fun, if it's just a different animation that produces the SAME result?

This is one of the reasons why I stopped playing vanilla. Seriously.

The use of a knife in PR is meant as a last resort, when you are out of ammo and out of options. This isn't some James Bond stealth game where you run around slitting throats or doing kidney thrusts. And this isn't Counter-strike where you run around yelling "Knives Only!" and expect everyone to jump around like coked-up monkeys.

The attacks with knives and bayonets in PR is just an animation, there is no actual difference between the different attacks such as type of wound or amount of damage. So it doesn't matter if you thrust, stab, slice, or flail it around like a retarded kid, as long as the knife is pointed towards the target and you are within range then they will die.

A stupid idea. Soldiers have access to knives, it is unrealistic to remove it.

Simply removing it because 'people aren't using it as a last resort' is idiotic.

To be honest, if the AK bayonet and sheath can be used to cut electrical wires IRL, it should be able to, after a few goes, remove the wire, but the tank traps stay up.

Aren't all conventional factions getting bayonets?

But really, don't remove one hit knifing. It's realistic etc.

learn to read m8.
"under the knife" not "getting the knife" ;)

also it aint possible to remove the wire with a knife. the engine supports pco's but not deployable ones and definitely not dependent on the weapon.

knifing is overrated :D

Dont know how many times I shot people because they tried to knife me in the back...
But knifing is cool fun when both fail with their first weapon and dont try to reload but take out the knife... really good fun, that should definatly stay like it is!

Under the knife? That expression is generally attached to something being dropped or removed, if he didn't mean that, what DID he mean? Its being revamped with cool street fighter combo attacks?

Is it not possible to add the option for right click, to make the weapon act like a wrench, to slowly remove the wire? Obviously it would take some time to work.

most bayonets have a wire cutting capabilities these days, and the thing with most tank traps, like the ones in PR is that unless you have time the "hedgehogs" are not usually dug in, and can be moved aside by manhandling them. any way that's how Australian assault pioneers usually operate. most of the time you don't want to have completely permanent field obstacles, because you might need to go through them too.

cant wait to see what you have in stall for us chuc...........

Last night someone tried to knife me. I heard him, turn around and saw him over me stabbing one after another and put reflex fire instantly

Conclusion: we both end dead!

No mate, 'under the knife' is widely accepted as meaning 'undergoing changes/revisions'.

'Getting the knife/axe/chop' means to get rid of.

No mate, here it isn't, well at least every time I've heard it it has been in the sense of being removed. Obviously he was using it in a different context.

Don't really see what revisions/changes can be made to it other than maybe animations, or removing it entirely.

Clearly another victory for cultural-langual differences then! =D

Revisions could be adding the ability to parry, and swing, and stab, and jab, and over-head swipe! Oh oh oh and DUAL KNIFING!

Fuck where did I put my ritalin?
