Need players for Server stresstest

Dear PR players,

My name is 9MIIIM3TeR and i am general gaming manager of FRS-Esports.

Recently , weve set up a new project reality server, to build our community and to establish new connections in the PR world.

at the moment we are running tests for our server.
therefore I need your help as PR players;

to get the maximum out of the server( currently 40 players ) we have to fill it up in order to run tests. our Sponsor ( Benelux Gaming) will give 64 slots , once we know the capacity of the server.

I would ask you , as Project Reality colleague's to join our server and have some fun!

i think it also scares people, because its a 40 slots server at the moment.

tomorrow night ( wednesday) around 20:00 EST+1 ,we will try and gather as much people as we can. would appreciate it if some of you guys can try and help stressing te server for max capacity.

I Hate to tell you this. But a 40 slot server is not going to draw a lot of PR players. It's just the nature of the beast. To fully get the best out of PR. you need to have 62 players on the server. I think you need 48 just to get all the kits opened up to the teams. And big maps like Mutta and Kashan are not going to cut it.

But maybe you should use some skirmish maps. Jabla skirmish and Sunset city as well as Kashan skirmish might just do the trick for you to get the server going.

i know , and thats kind of the issue;

our sponsor wants a stresstest first , in order to get to 64 slots. dont ask me why , because the server runs smoothly, but for some reason he wants to know how much data is being transfered.

we are gathering some people for tonight , to prove to the sponsor ,that 64 slots are manageble and that the server runs good on PR.

let's just hope for the best

You need to have some regulars/ clan mates to fill it for you. Also tell your sponsor regardless if the stress test works or not. 40 slots is a waste of time and money.

People wont want to play on a server with 40 slots when every other server running 64.
Oddsodz hit the nail on the head; it takes 48 just to unlock all the specialist kits,..

Even when you do get 64 server your going to need to seed it for at least 6 weeks daily to get people to like/ settle down on your server..

To keep a server popular is very difficult; try to get a few clans involved maybe offering each member a free slot for a year or something.
That way you'll have people to seed it for you.

Yeah, 40 slots servers aren't even in my radar too... As for myself, for example, i never join server with less than 64 slots...

oke. the server runs beautifully. now i have a question..

what maps do you guys advise me to put in , in order to get the server full in like: 1 hour?

i was thinking about insurgency maps , but most of the time its on asad khal/ muttrah. about 25 players join, but thats about it. i know we can get more out of the server, and i think it has to deal with the maps.

I suggest you to do some recon and check what the other servers are running. Though the bigger names fill up / stay full with almost any map.

i know, and thats kinda like the "issue";

how would you attract players.

-we have a good server,
-we run 24/7
-we try and fill it up with about 20 players
-we are nice

but it hasnt reached 64 players yet.

i dunno if it is because of the maps/ mode or because we have a new server.

Most players play on servers they frequent/know, so its probably because your a new server. when with low numbers plays mall maps/skirmish game mod to keep the interest up.

Ive always believed that its the name of the server wich attracks people. For example i'm from holland and i join mainly the UKWF server. 1e i know automaticly ill have a good ping 2e the main language is english 3e Its a clan wich means monitoring ( admins).

Other servers i join are servers with names like hardcore, gameplay, teamplay. And i dont join servers with less than 50 people (AAS Ins). Huge paradox there for wich you (i think) need a strong backbone with 30 people ready to join your server.

FYI, the current popular servers didnt get there over night... It took them many weeks/months of constantly seeding the servers, and any of the admins can attest its quite demanding job keeping a server populated AND keeping it well admined.

Thank you for supporting the mod, I really would love to see a server from your area get very popular with great teamwork, it looks like you have the drive so keep on it!
