Ive checked so many times on the threads for this weapon. Every time met with "too powerfull" "noob pwnage inc" - basicly saying that it is an unrealistic weapon that would ruin project reality, but how?
Lets try compare it with one of the newer assets, just in theory; the BTR with armor piercing rounds, grenade shells, hi-rate machineguns, TOW's and outstanding defenses - And the ability to carry a full squad with H-AT, Automatic machine guns, Grenadier etc.
In my opinion all this combined sounds like a MK19 on steroids, and then some. The US team needs some realistic love on the ground, where the MK19 is one of their actual prefered mounted weaponry, only reason its not mounted on every hummer there is, is collateral damage - but hey, we dont have to worry about civilians in PR, the heck, we drop JDAMS in middle of cities in PR, on schools, mosques, you name it. A weapon like this wouldn't be supreme overpowered, and this leads me on to MY suggestion.
1. Instead of having this grenade launcher firing the distance it can in reality, make it function as the actual ingame grenade launcher. We're talking 350 range with effectivity, perhaps longer with alot further cone of precision penalty. At this range, the way PR statics function, will provide excellent cover for any OPFOR. Any insurgent would have a fair chance against this, more chance than they have versus a Stryker at 600-700 distance fx.
2. Firerate, make the firerate realistic, but perhaps put 25 grenade belts with a good reload timer, so that each shot gotta count when you use this weapon.
3. Sights, perhaps nerf it here aswell, by making the sights function as overlook, like an unzoomed 50.cal., So that the operator has to "shoot" his way in on the target, wasting precious shells doing so.
4. Last but not least, if too overpowered in some eyes while mounted, make it a buildable object, placed by a squadleader on a static position., Maybe by the old unarmed hummers.
In the end, I really dont think this weapon would destroy the game. Theres so many powerfull weapons in the game already, why not add another, specially nowdays where the insurgents are very tough going. When im playing in insurgent squads, and the SL calls out that theres a hummer near, theres no fear even though it has a 50.cal, its more like; "Who runs out there and takes it out gets a cookie."
Some clearence on why this asset isnt here already or why it should never be would be good, and please dont use the old nooblet rocket sauce shat from the old post, theres absolutely no clearence on why or why not in that thread.
Hope for some good feedback on this, once and for all...
