cant update pacth

Post by paradien »

Hey guys i installed bf2 on my laptop and i got the v1.4 patch to update it since its on v1.1.

The patch installs but when i run bf2 i still reads that im on v1.1. Im not to sure were to go on this, i googled 1.4 update fails and only got people who couldn't even execute 1.4.

Any ideas?

when i had to do this another pc i needed 1.4 before 1.5... it worked,

BF2 not updated to v 1.41 before patching with v1.5
FULL update 1.41
Final v1.5

Some have posted updating sometimes does not complete, but looks like it does.
To find your version of BF2
run PR in 'windowed' mode
Look at the upper left corner
you should see
v.1.5.3153-802.0

To run PR in 'windowed' mode
Right click on shortcut.
Choose properties from bottom of list.
Modify the text in your shortcut's 'target' window.

Your 'target window should look like this running Vista(for XP lose the (x86):
"C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe" start +modPath mods/pr +menu 1 +fullscreen 1

Change
+fullscreen 1
to
+fullscreen 0

If your 'target window' just looks like this running Vista(for XP lose the (x86):
"C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe"

Then add:
start +modPath mods/pr +menu 1 +fullscreen 0

You need to leave 1 space after pr.exe" before you 'paste' it in the rest.

Good luck

PS for wide screen LCD use +widescreen 0
