I am just wondering what the maximum Tri Limit for Handheld weapons is?
Something around 3k I have heard, however I may be extremely wrong

It depends on what you model, it can reach 6000 tris if needed provided this weapon is not used by too many players (i.e. a sniper rifle, etc)

indeed you are very wrong hehe. just checked the current ingame m16 and it has around 6k tris on the lod 0
the trick is using proper lods etc to make it draw with less tris at distance.
but it always depends on the complexity of the model. if the real life weapon has all kinds of cylinders, possibly a rail system etc etc then it can easily go upwards in tri count. but the engine should be able to handle it as long as the weapons are optimized
