Punkbuster kick for bad Fraps compatability: Corrupt File/Memory [120148]

Post by War-Saw-M249 »

Hi, just recently I got fraps version 2.9.4. Everything seemed fine with it so I decided to run it with PR, so I went and joined a server. Everything was ok at first but after about 2 minutes I got kicked by punkbuster: Corrupt File/Memory [120148]. I went and installed a new update for punkbuster, everything went smooth. Then I joined another PR server and I got the same message except my gameplay was a little "jumpy" or laggy and finally I was kicked from the server. I looked up a few threads online and indeed the problem was caused by fraps, though I don't know why. Is there some sort of solution to this problem? I run everything smoothly without fraps on no problem.

I think you have an illegal copy of fraps (cracked) as punkbuster is aware of every new released version updates of fraps and blocks automaticaly older versions.
Going to the website and purchase the actual version of fraps will resolve the problem.
If it is a legit version, I really don't know this problem.

The problem was resolved, I looked up and found a thread. Yes I bought my version.

Edit:

I had to uninstall fraps then reinstall and go through onecare to have it allowed through my firewall. After that I clicked on the desktop icon, clicked properties, and selected the box "Run As Administrator". It was so simple I can't believe I didnt figure it out xd
