Request: v0.9 Manual
Well as we've seen from the changelog v0.9 will be introducing many changes and several have asked about finer details, how this/that is going to work: "players can only put down 3 mine markers yet have the capability to put down 10 mines??".
I'm requesting the v0.9 PDF manual to be released asap so that old and new to the game can get a better handle on all the changes before 09:09:09 UTC tomorrow (haven't seen anything on the main page, preload or password page - apologies if its been posted somewhere else).

The Manual will come with the installer just like it always does.

"Always" -> as in a version or two back it wasn't made available on the main page days before the installer release.[R-MOD]Thermis wrote:The Manual will come with the installer just like it always does.

Curious as to the reasoning behind this.[R-MOD]Thermis wrote:The Manual will come with the installer just like it always does.
Releasing the manual early so people can read it while there is a high level of anticipation seems like a very good idea. Heck its hard enough to get people to read the manual as is; why not give it to them when there asking for it.
(Most people will just go right in game when v0.9 is released as opposed to spending 30 minutes reading the manual and THEN going in to actually see the new content)
Although the changelog is up so you can always look at that
Just my 2 cents...

Gotta say this makes a lot of sense. If the pdf is in the installer it must be done.. so why not upload it for keen peeps to look at.Sniper_dog14 wrote:Curious as to the reasoning behind this.

It's not a matter patience.. it's just practical.
(admittedly i've yet to read any of the pr manuals..

Just a guess but the manual will probably include a how to install the files and thus contain the password incase you want to reinstall the files any time in the future with out having to come to the PR forum/web page to find it out.

Oh I see, it's not in the installer, a link to it is in the installer. The actual manual is online and is not yet finished. Did I get it right?[R-DEV]fuzzhead wrote:Manual is not done yet, thats why its not been posted....

Re: Request: v0.9 Manual
This seems strange. In every version I've seen so far the .pdf is included in the directory.[R-DEV]fuzzhead wrote:Manual is not done yet, thats why its not been posted....
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\readme\PR_Manual.pdf
Fair enough but the point I was trying to make is that doing it that way will mean a lot less people actually read the manual because they will have something much much more interesting to be doing (Actually playing the game...).[R-DEV]AfterDune wrote:One more day of patience should do the trick.

Maybe you could just delay the release of the password and only publish the manual instead. This should give the manual the right amount of attention.[R-DEV]fuzzhead wrote:Manual is not done yet, thats why its not been posted....

That's actualy a really good idea. Just put it in a random spot so people actualy have to read through it to find itFerron wrote:Release a manual and hide a password in it.![]()

Re: Request: v0.9 Manual
No, theyd just skim through it looking for the password. Instead you could just wait for the release and just read the manual anyways. I read it every release.XxxGrANdmA wrote:That's actualy a really good idea. Just put it in a random spot so people actualy have to read through it to find it
