hello, i've recently gotten a new LG Flatron W2061TQ 20" 16:9 monitor. i cant seem to run BF2 on it however.
Windows 7
ZOTAC Nvidia Geforce 9800GT
it all ran fine before, infact BF2 still runs fine now if i used my old monitor. the problem seems to be with my new monitor

If it blatantly refuses to start or you get a black screen that then CTD's instantly then it's probably a refresh rate issue / resolution issue. Your best bet is to check your Video.con file in your BF2 settings in MyDocuments and change the line "VideoSettings.setResolution 1920x1200@60Hz" etc to a mode you know it supports.
However you then have a second problem in that BF2's supported widescreen mode is 16:10 only and this can cause a lot of headaches. You'd normally enter "+widescreen 1" to your BF2 startup but the danger is this conversion is applied and then a second conversion is done by your monitor to get it to 16:9 and it completely messes up various visuals. To solve this either select the next size down 16:10 resolution and force it to fit or consider other options like this guy from the other day with wide-screen fixer.

yes thats exactly what's happeneing, i start up BF2/PR and it goes black then CTD
