Major FPS drop

Post by frankwilliam »

When facing towards the middle of the map i get a huge FPS drop from ~100 to about 20~ depending on the map ofcourse

I get this and ive heard alot of others having the same problem.
And changing settings does not affect the issue, still the same drop

And oh first post, Hi everyone :-D

Personally I cant play Lashkar valley whatsoever. No matter where I look I get 5-15 fps pretty much.

Yamalia isn't nice on my laptop either, but its at least kinda playable.

I havent tried all the maps yet, but those 2 are the ones I've had the most problems with so far.

guys, when you talk about FPS and overall performance, please post your system specs, or at least fill your profiles with it

The new maps are really performance intensive, specially Gaza Beach.

I have also experienced lower FPS than usual in 0.9...

System specs:
AMD Phenom 9650 Quad-Core 2.30 GHz
4 gb RAM
ATI Radeon HD5800

Lowered some of the settings (everything related to shadows and lightning) to medium, and is getting an average FPS of about 30-40 (with lightning and shadows set to high it dropped down to about 10 at times) on the maps I've tried (co-op). Previously (0.87), I played with an average of about 50-60, and then I had an older video card (bougth this one last week) and everything set to high. Not bothering me very much, but it's still quite weird, and would like to know if there is any kind of exmplanation. :p

Loading times are longer as well.

Gaza beach and the merkava are so AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111

Back to the topic, I get those FPS dropz 2, like 28 inside Gaza, ~20 FPS inside Beirut... Leshkar valley is good, huge view distance and something like 40 fps.

Ati 4850
Intel i7 920
6Gb DDR3 1800Mhz
Win 7 Home Premium 64bit
Asus P6T

frankwilliam; played with you on Gaza Beach a couple of hours back. You told me your name on mumble. We got a serious beating. :(

What about Fallujah west? Now I really get bad fps drops on that map. Might be the new stuff added as the previous version worked perfectly.

I did notice lots of new enterable buildings, and the new sidewalks no longer stops you, but they do look more complex polygon-wise.

Anyway, I love everything about this release except for the fps drops.

Ha! Devs, nothing you throw at me can stop my trusty Core i7 920 and Radeon HD 5970! Take that, large, performance-intensive maps!

It's practically unplayable for me, the new maps lag, Gaza beach performance is shocking, Fallujah west is even worse than before. The previous version had no performance issues for me at all.

Specs;

Phenom II X4 955 @ 3.2GHz
Sapphire 4870 1Gb Vapor X
4Gb DDR2 800MHz
Windows 7 64bit
