Pr.exe not found?

My PR has been working perfectly fine since i got .9, but now for some random reason when I try to launch it either from my shortcut or programs list, it says it can't find it and asks if i want to find it myself. Any ideas?

I've been having sort of the same problem. I keep getting a message saying i must use pr.exe in order to run Project Reality. I've tried everything that everyone has reccomended me to do.

your two problems are not the same.
@op your shortcut is not valid because the file is not where it is expected to be and the OS cannot find it (error from OS)
when installing PR it will ask your to specify the installation folder - the folder it asks for is infact your "Battlefield 2" folder. NOT the "Battlefied 2\mod\pr" folder
i assume you have installed it into the wrong directory the shortcut is looking for pr.exe inside "Battlefied 2\mod\pr" but have actually installed it into "Battlefied 2\mod\pr\mod\pr" (note how pr installer creates "mods\pr" and installs there

reinstall and do not specify a custom location, just make sure the BF2 root is correct
you also have to install BOTH part 1 and part 2 ofcourse


@silv your pr thinks your not launching it from the shortcut but rather from within BF2 (error from PR)
you are required to run it from pr.exe because there are certain aspects that alter the appearance and not using it would give you unwanted visual effect - from your post I take you are having a seperate thread so I will not start resuggesting things here

^ Thats what I did when I first installed it, and it worked up until the other day fine THEN said it couldn't find it. No worries though, I just re-downloaded it & installed it and it works fine

i am glad you got that fixed but files suddenly going astray can be an indicator of
a) a virus - run av-checks
b) hardware is about to fail - better get a backup of your important files on that HDD going
