I have just recently installed Battefield 2, and was going through filefront looking at mods and then I remembered PR. I immediatly searched PR on yahoo and came upon this site. A new release (0.9, which I am DLing now), news of a standalone game (looking forward too but doubtful it will happen, at least in my eyes) and an active forum which means populated servers.

I played PR about two years ago when I would play BF2 all the time and LOVED it. I love PR and I'm so pumped that this mod is still around and people still play it. Single-Player too? I can't wait. About 5 hours for 0.9 to finish downloading.

Other than BF2 and both parts of PR 0.9, do I need anything else to play it? Does BF2 need to be patched to 1.5? Cause I am having problems with it patching

Yes you need BF2 v1.5 to play otherwise it will crash without it.

Yes you need it to be to 1.5 you will probably find that patching to 1.41 first will sort any problems you have out.

Yeah, when I tried patching to 1.5 it said I had a newer version installed (I think I have 1.2) so I started download 1.41 a while ago and its still going.

I assume the manual is the guide? I can't seem to open it because I need authorization and I tried putting in my forum username and info but it didn't work.

And hopefully I'll join the "training" game type I read a bit about and try to get myself up to speed.

This is a common problem ...
You installed BF2 from your CD and then you just tried to install the 1.5 patch.
But first you need to install the 1.41 patch, because 1.5 isnt standalone, it needs the 1.41 patch.

Then it works without any problems !

Yeah, good plan but that god removed with v0.9... But you can play a few rounds of online CO-OP instead (you and other players vs bots)
When you feel comfortable then go join a real server. Just join a squad and let your squadmembers know you are "new".

The manual comes with your download and a link is put onto your desktop when you install the mod. The guide on the site is currently down for maintenance.

you will probably find that patching to 1.41 first will sort any problems you have out.

Conversely you will find that NOT patching to 1.41 first will leave you in a massive shit-storm...

What you need to play Pr install order.

Install BF2 Vanilla
Then patch to BF2 1.41
Then patch to 1.50
Then install PR core
Then install PR Levels

You can not patch straight from BF2 1.0 to 1.50. You have to install patch 1.41 before patch 1.50. Patch 1.50 is a incremental patch only.

Correct, though the PR Client files are called "Part 1" and Part 2", not core and levels like before 0.9.

yes...pretty much, this game will ruin your entire gaming experience. you can try to play another game, but it will just seem...bad.
