Iron sights and scopes

I've noticed that the iron sights and scoped weapons take the same amount of time to settle. Why is this?
well because of the same reason that volks said, you shoot the weapon. Its different because the devs realised that.Varkbrak wrote:In the previous version, it took about 5 seconds for a scoped weapon to settle and an iron sight took 1 second. Why are the values the same now? Both, iron sights and scoped, weapons take 4 seconds to settle.
Indeed, but I think it would be harder to aim properly with a scope than an iron sight. So that difference between iron sight and scope made sense for me.privatedoodles wrote:well because of the same reason that volks said, you shoot the weapon. Its different because the devs realised that.
That was never the case.Varkbrak wrote:In the previous version, it took about 5 seconds for a scoped weapon to settle and an iron sight took 1 second. Why are the values the same now? Both, iron sights and scoped, weapons take 4 seconds to settle.
Actualy, it's not. Aiming properly with an iron sight is much harder than scope, but aiming properly with red dot is easier.Jigsaw wrote:That was never the case.
They have always taken the same amount of time to settle, scope in times are different ofc but settle time isn't. The settle times and deviation system have been modified heavily for 0.9, but the times have always been equal for scoped and iron sight versions of each individual weapon.
Exactly how is it harder to aim properly with a scope than irons?
This is exactly what the DEVs do not want.Varkbrak wrote:You might be right, but in the previous version it was possible to drop onto your belly and start shooting immediately and kill the bloke in front of you.
You only get that by instaproning and firing immediately or shooting too fast...Hunt3r wrote: Anyhow, I think that scopes should have reduced max deviation though, because it's a bit unrealistic to aim at one place with the scope reticle, and have it hit at the bottom of the BDC ladder.
That was actually my point...iAllex wrote:Actualy, it's not. Aiming properly with an iron sight is much harder than scope, but aiming properly with red dot is easier.
I never play without one.iAllex wrote:... i just like iron sight![]()
I am rightVarkbrak wrote:@Jigsaw: You might be right, but in the previous version it was possible to drop onto your belly and start shooting immediately and kill the bloke in front of you. (With iron sights) Now it is not possible, cause you have to wait 4 seconds in order to kill him.![]()
Firing immediately yes, but even if you fire immediately in a reflex optic, it appears a lot more accurate. With scoped optics, your mistake is magnified maybe 4 times, so it feels a lot worse, even if not quantifiably less accurate.[R-CON]Outlawz wrote:You only get that by instaproning and firing immediately or shooting too fast...

Pro tip: crouch and shoot instead of proning. If you go prone deviation will shoot right up as you say and you will spray all over the place. Crouch and your deviation will be affected only by your recent movements using WASD, meaning you should be more accurate. If you are using iron sights then you will be sighted in quicker than any enemy with a scope, so you have an advantage there.
