so,where is Command & Control (CnC)mode?

Post by maarit »

so where it is?
i would try to test this gamemode but havent seen this in any server lately.
is there something wrong about it?
it sounds interesting gamemode cos it would bring some different gameplay to the game.
what i mean is that in aas examble muttrah, first, attack docks, build outpost.gets booring very quick.

but in cnc mode...well its different.
where is this gamemode? :!:

FROM THE MANUAL:
Command & Control (CnC)
This new game mode features large freeform
battles. There are no capturable CPs. Both teams can
place a single forward outpost (FO). The objective is
to defend the team's FO while trying to find and
destroy the enemy FO. When a team loses it's FO
they will suffer a huge ticket penalty and continue to
lose tickets until they can erect a new one. Building
the FO further from your main base increases the
ticket loss that the enemy will suffer while his FO is
destroyed. Both teams can build more defenses near
their outpost than in other game modes.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
so theres no flags, you just build a fob and that your flag sort of.
should be there that you can build two fobs instead one?
cos maybe in those big maps like yamalia searching just one fob is little bit a booring?
i really dont know cos i havent get to change to play it 0.8/0.9.
is there anyone who managed to play this and can tell something about it.

https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f10-pr ... wrong.html
when i readed that thread, then i start to wondering, where is that other gamemode.

i've played it on kashan once, it wasn't so fun but that must have depend on the players,
both teams built on fob each in the hills in the middle of the map and fought there i bit until the mec fob was destroyed, and since we didnät hav any other fob our tickets dropped to zero from 250 in a min
and that's the only time i've played it, i'd love to play it on fools road and yamalia

I found this sentence quite funny and since this is a war game forum I will put it here. No offense to the french just a good laugh.

As an experiment i would be happy to have a go running CnC on our server.

Edit: found it, i am as blind as a bat.

All the maps you can run are:
Battle for quinling
Kashan
Silent eagle
Yamilia

Zimmer, Kashan I recon would be alright for CnC, when we played kashan yesterday both teams were using firebases to attempt to gain forms of control and defence of flags, and both teams fbs were attacked quite offen.
But I have to agree with you on yamilia.

Most maps should be good CnC maps now that its one huge FOB and not 6 small FOBs!

It has some issues with ticket bleed, but we are working on it.

So there are no servers using the game mode until it's fixed or am I missing these servers?

as far I guess the first one. servers do not wanna put on maps/modes which are problematic.

It's bugged. Played it a few weeks ago on Yamalia where the Russian team could build 1 FOB while the Canadians had 5.

Hotfix has been applied, things are sweet now.

Well, as sweet as CnC can be. Would still rather a decent downpat game of AAS over it.

With hotfix, as soon as 1 team has FB and the other don't, they insta-bleed out.
So it's all about 1 hour defence, then first team to place best artillery - boom.
Wait for hotfixfix.

[RIP] are running a CnC night every Monday on our Public server, we think it's an awesome mode, just only wish it featured a few more maps....

As someone said above, Kashan is pants in this mode - map is too open and way to easy to find the enemy FOB. However, Yamalia and Silent Eagle are amazing maps for this mode and we have had some fantastic games on them.

The biggest problem we are having is getting the players on, at present we are getting enough for 2 full squads, which is good - 1 defending and the other doing search and destroy....

Would be nice to see a city map on this mode too, maybe a version of Beiruit or Muttrah. I can just see the possible hiding places on a big city map....

If you like this mode or are interested in trying it out, find the [RIP] Rusty server on a Monday night....

PS - we also run Vehicle Only nights on Thursdays...
