Why does everyone who plays this game feel they're entitled to everything? 25 tickets left on Muttrah, on the 24/7 US server. I'm flying one of the Trans Hueys, I've got people barking at me to go land ontop of some mountain around A2, I tell them there's no point as the enemy is at Docks and the rest of our guys are at E City Center, to which they start flying around insults, shooting at the heli etc. I know this probably sounds like a stupid rant, but have people become so babied all their life that if they don't get something in a video game, they can whine and throw a fit? I guess the point of this rant is that admins tend to side with the person who whined/complained first, rather than looking at the whole situation, nothing happened in this case though, I just left after the round ended.

I think thats a generall PR Pub problem: nobody likes to be INF SQ I remember times when u had only had INF VOIP SQs and maybe one tank SQ, but now u got your sniper SQ , HAT SQ, APC SQ, APC 2 SQ, Tank SQ, Trans Huey, Attack huey, Cobra and if you are lucky but only if u are lucky one INf

This happens when a mod become very popular and people of all kinds joins the game. Not everyone will agree with your statements and less will do what you tell them to do. The reason would might be that they don't see the .. "whole picture"? Many times battles is epic, and some goes bad. This is the way of life, my unknown friend.

I just appreciate what infantrymen do. That is why, if I join the US Army, I'm going as an Infantry Officer (11A) or Special Forces Detachment Leader (18A). The reason being that infantry is the only unit able to do almost anything. Well, they are not as fast as choppers, nor as strong as tanks, but hey, they can shoot down choppers, and they can take out tanks! Also, they are the only ones who can go into a hostile city with loads of civilians, where a single tank round or helicopter shot would probably injure - or kill - innocent people. In the end, though, the reason I like being infantry is because they can opperate anywhere, anytime. They are in a war and in a battle from the beginning to the end of it. They are most of the time the first ones going in (specially if you are a Special Forces soldier), and last ones to get out. Meaning, riflemen are the backbone of the army. You don't have infantry, you're screwed. NOTE: This is true in Real-life as it is in PR.

Also, you sure those guys at your chopper weren't a sniper-less sniper team?

Mate im no expert but i'm pretty sure that infantry on PR is different to infantry in the actuall US army- maybe think that one through a bit more.

But back on topic i think that PR has really gone to the dogs pub wise. I used to play 12/13 hours a week back in 0.8 even about 10 in 0.85 but since 0.9 has gone up ive been pubbing for about 3 hours in total. Pub is just no fun anymore.

I think people are just impatient, they want combat and they want it now. They don't want me to drop them off at a safe LZ near the bottom of the hill where I don't have a large chance of colliding with the mountain or being shot from behind by a BTR.

very true i often find this annoying espectially with 1337 players hwo think just because they've played the game long means they have the right to do anything

That is true in Project Reality too, even though they are maybe more effective in real-life due to all their tactical abilities armors, ships and aircrafts lack.

In real-life, as far as I am concerned, from ancient times to modern-era, infantry was the basis of an army. Armors, cannons and flying machines were all created to aid the troops on foot.

I feel your pain RatsOner, a lot of people think they're entitled, and the whining(about ANYTHING) gets old real fast....

My first choice in squad forming is as an Inf Squad...if some kiddies want to play with the tanks, I tell them they have to leave the squad and join/form a tank squad, same with choppers, APC's, etc....If I'm a squad leader, then that pretty much makes my word( in THAT squad) final....that's the rules....that being said, I'm pretty easy going about suggestions...and I'm good at following orders too!

All the same, I generally avoid playing Muttrah if I can, no offense to the fans of the map, or it's designer,but it just got old for me after a while and there are many other maps/modes to chose from. It may come down to having a pad and pen handy to take the names of players who treat people like fecal matter, not to report them, but to avoid dealing with them in the future.

Playing medic can be a thankless job too. You're shot at, killed because your rifle is USELESS after a certain distance, and many squad members out there don't even TRY to revive you. However they *****, piss, and moan when they're down. AGAIN ENTITLEMENT. One guy razzed me about not doing my job ( in a friendly way of course) and I was quick to remind him that no one else said ANYTHING when the SL asked someone to be a medic. He stopped razzing me quick.

A note to all: just because your anonymity is "protected" doesn't give you license to act like a ****** bag.

I'm American, born in Boston.


My first post was PR-related. The second one (which you quoted) was my explanation to a misunderstanding by jermaindefoe.

The meaning is, to cut a long story short, Phantom2 and Tahanatos generalizations were wrong, and I said that BECAUSE infantry is essential to all kinds of warfare. Even though in real-life they might take care of the boring stuff, like base protection, they are still a necessity, and will always be -- being the reason I want to go Infantry in real-life... and more preciselly, I want to be a special forces warrior, which is a lot different from everything you've seen in PR or on the news.

Nevermind not enough infantry squads.
There were 5 when I played muttrah the other day (including one of those stupid elitist ones with 4 guys in it all with special kits and then locked).

I led the 5th squad and decided to make my way to the next flag ready to cap it when in a few minutes it would be cappable, but forgive me for thinking that well over half the team which was the 4 other infantry squads, 2 lavs and an attack huey couldn't take the other flag. Well, they could, but when the admins squad died he threw a sissy fit and blamed it on my squad not being there and threatened to kick me So I grudgingly ordered my squad back to the other flag making it clear that we were going to die as MEC APCs were between us and the flag. We ran into an APC before we even got there and we died.

The moral of the story is:
1. Don't listen to people raging because they did something wrong and want to blame you.
2. If you know the bigger picture, you know better.
3. Someone who wants you to walk through the enemy frontline with 6 men and no AT support is an idiot.

I don't get it. I love being infantry.

Same, being a grunt or a lowly inf SL is incredibly fun.

I agree with everything you said, especially about medics, I've had to use the medic kit so many times in a squad that I kind of enjoy it now. The thing I like about the fact that the rifle doesn't have any optics on it, is that it's easier to have accurate suppressive fire on the move, it's a lot harder to do that when a weapon has an ACOG on it.

I know what you mean about people bitching about the transport heli pilots not wanting to get shot down trying to land ontop of an enemy AA site because the infantry squad is too fking lazy to walk 100 meters extra to assign a safe LZ.

If they start bitching, ignore them, if they start shooting at your heli, take a spin around the carrier and land on them, they earned it.


We need admins to be more proactive, be more liberal with kicking people. They can come back in a few minutes.
