Inter-Helicopter Teamplay in PR?
hey guys what about helicopter teamplay like the OH-58 and Apache does in real life ?!
The OH-58 kiowa is a scout helicopter and could be eyes and ears for the apaches in PR
the Kiowa could be loaded with some gun pods and hydra rockets or even two hellfires
furthermore it should have the rotor mast with his camera and infrared tads
Crewed with a pilot and a neccesary scout officer...
OH-58 Kiowa

Re: Helicopter Teamplay in PR?
If your suggesting to strictly add the OH-58...then that's a re suggestion
If your asking for Scout Choppers to mark targets for Attack Choppers...this is already in-game (all co-pilot's can right click to send their own laser markers...yes even attack chopper gunners can laser a target for themselves
)

Ye Scout helicopters are already in PR, there are more scout helicopters in the world than just the Kiowa you know...

Too bad the only 1 worth scouting with is the Chinese LB in my opinion and even then it is still very risky.

If you don't mind my asking...why would you say that? Is it due to the enclosed cabin?chrisweb89 wrote:Too bad the only 1 worth scouting with is the Chinese LB in my opinion and even then it is still very risky.

Re: Helicopter Teamplay in PR?
I think you didnt understand me ...maybe my fault... but what I want to suggest is a TADS mode for scouting helicopters instead of GLTD owned by the most of the ground soldiers..
sorry but on which map can I find the Kiowa scout?

Re: Helicopter Teamplay in PR?
As I said, Attack choppers aren't restricted to Ground Forces for Marking purposes, all Helicopter Co-Pilots (Be it Attack Choppers, Transport Choppers, Scout Choppers) can make their own laser markers (just like with GLTD) with a simple right-click at the target they want.Ls4SpeedPilot wrote:i think you didnt get me ... what i want to suggest is a TADS mode for scouting helicopters instead of GLTD owned by the most of the ground soldiers..
It isn't in-game, but a re-suggestion. In other words it's been asked by others to be added in-game before.Ls4SpeedPilot wrote:sorry but on which map can I find the Kiowa scout?

How about a lazer parascope. The chopper would be able to chill behind a mountain or trees while it lazes targets for attack choppers out of harms way

Re: Helicopter Teamplay in PR?
Scout helicopters aren't really necessary in PR with the circumstances that they would be given. The Kiowa in PR would really fit under the category of light attack, but in my personal opinion still usable for Spotting with its MMS.
But sometimes they can be used for lazing and spotting for CAS Fixed Wing Aircraft. I was in the Littlebird, co-piloting it and using the FLIR available to set down lazes from 600+ Altitude for the A-10 with the lack of ground forces setting down laser targets themselves. Together, the A-10 was able to kill 15 vehicles and static objectives using precision munitions, directed by the Littlebird.
This feature is already implemented to most scout helicopters (if not every), and would act as a secondary function to the attack function that most of the helicopters already sport.

I want anything that will give helicopters more to do than just transport/supply drops and orbital bombardment/strafing.

For the OH-58D yes since it has one in r/l and we would put it on there because its realistic but not for the other helicopters that do not...PuffNStuff wrote:How about a lazer parascope. Re: Helicopter Teamplay in PR?
seems like all the same choppers should have that maybe they got modded before the battle
but anyway some transport choppers have hydras and they are not in game for balance reasons so why not have lazing for same choppers for balance?

Re: Helicopter Teamplay in PR?
Increasing the zoom on the scout camera could have an outsized effect .
The littlebird and others are just a tad weak and lb is slow too, they are sitting ducks on the wide open maps like kashan that actually have the laser guided jdams.
More distance when spotting would make the difference

Having the lase actually land on the place you clicked and having it live long enough to actually have your Apache or A-10 come in to kill it would be pretty critical for a "let's have the choppers work together" idea.

Re: Helicopter Teamplay in PR?
yes but what if that system would be improved by lazing helicopters ?Hunt3r wrote:Having the lase actually land on the place you clicked and having it live long enough to actually have your Apache or A-10 come in to kill it would be pretty critical for a "let's have the choppers work together" idea.
would be more realistically in my opinion - sorry for my bad english
