"Patching Failed" When Installing BF2:SF and Patches

Hi, I'm trying to install BF2:SF and patches so I can play PR but when it's patching, it comes up with an error saying "Patching Failed."

Any and all help is appreciated.

P.S. I use Windows 7 Ultimate x86

You need to install patch 1.41 prior to installing patch 1.5!
Please provide the full error message. (possibly a screen shot)

Note: BF2:SF is an Add-On and not a stand-alone game. You do not need to install BF2:SF to play PR. Regular BF2 at successfully patched to version 1.5 is the only requirement.

It does this for every patch.



I've tried running it in Administrator mode, Admin mode and Win XP mode, and just Win XP mode. I get the same thing every time.

It doesn't say any error message except for above.

EDIT: It comes up with "Patching Failed" when on "mods\bf2\Objects_client.zip"

EDIT: I tried renaming Objects_client.zip and it works now...

I am currently suffering from the same painstaking problem. I have a clean install of win 7 64bit, ALL drivers are updated, and a clean install of bf2. I downloaded 2 seperate 1.41 patch files and both give me the same error. It loads to approx the same file as stated earlier in this thread, and then it says patch failed. shortly after, the installer states that it finished successfully. What do I rename, as you did, to get this damn thing to work?

Win7 home prem 64bit
8gb OCZ SLI ram
(2) Geforce 280 gtx SLI
Core 2 Quad 2.4ghz

In Windows 7 be sure to run the patch as administrator.
