Community Mapping

As for your actual questions they can be completely fictional, there are only a few maps in PR that are based on real world location, eg. Muttrah City, Korengal Valley and Lashkar Valley.

To the second question, yes very very basically that is what will be done but really you'll just have to wait and see it is far too early at this time ;)

"I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for 12 hours. When it was all over, I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end... "

What Jigsaw meant to say here was "please read the PR2 page located here:

Project Reality : Battlefield 2 Mod - Project Reality 2

and if it's not answered in there, you'll just have to wait for now. ;) "

That said, when you consider the age of the BF2 engine don't you think it would be a little bit disappointing to work in a new game engine but to use models that were designed around the limitations of an engine that's rapidly coming up on a decade old? :)

Actually, they can't. Or rather, they can but it's not worth it.

To bring, say, the current SA80 modelled in PR up to the kind of detail level that a modern game engine could handle would take as long, if not longer, than re-making it from scratch.

So yeah, for testing and proof-of-concept stuff obviously current PR assets are what's available. Long term, you should certainly not expect any retail version of PR2 to just have existing PR1 stuff imported into it.

Heh, well if it's not in the PR2 link/FAQ that means we're either not willing or not able to make a direct statement about that particular point just yet.

In which case, asking about it probably won't net you much more of an answer :)

ohh well so any suggestions for a map I was thinking of something like lowlands in vBF2

two main islands and one in the middle(this is just exaggerated I will add more stuff)

I was thinking of maybe 4 or 3 Flags to make battles longer and bigger
