Walking Speed with deployed Radio
I was wondering if the walking speed when the radio is deployed/in-use could be the same as when its not deployed/in-use.
It is very easy to switch to not deployed and then moving to deploy and putting down other fire base add-ons once the fire base is built/being shoveled, but I just thought I'd bring it up, especially if you are engaged it kind of makes you more of a easy target, or even when you are spotting/setting contact distance ranges and then spotting targets of interest.

Agreed... Except the excessive moving around may throw off your marking positions and such
...
i do think you should beable to Walk a bit faster though

I thought this was only for selected weapons?Th3Exiled wrote:It's hard coded. The only way to increase the speed you walk while you are using the radio is to increase the normal walking speed.
Exiled.
Anyways, can't you make when you "sight in" with a radio so you walk 3/4 of normal speed instead of 1/2?

IMO full walking speed is OK, as long as running is out of the question.

Someone said that's not doable?Himalde wrote:IMO full walking speed is OK, as long as running is out of the question.

it is NOT hardcoded, I'm not sure how to do it, but I know it can be done. For example, teh combined arms team made walking with 4x scopes as fast as walking with ironsightsTh3Exiled wrote:It's hard coded. Walking with a deployed radio is slower because the animation is considered as 'sighting in' the radio. Why would you want to walk around with radio equipped in the first place though? You can just 'unsight' it if you want to run.

Or if you get engaged whilst using it then draw out another weapon immediately and then you won't have to go through the unsighting animation, yet will have full movement speed.[R-CON]Outlawz wrote:Walking with a deployed radio is slower because the animation is considered as 'sighting in' the radio. So then how do you explain deployed weapons being so much slower in scoped mode? Such as the Auto Rifleman. I know for a fact you move lots faster with an mp5 "scoped" in than the auto rifleman scoped in.
Hard coded =/= idk lol
Also, rudd you are sneaky >:[

No Rudd he's right. As long as you're in the secondary view no one's found a way to alter the ratio in speed.[R-CON]Rudd wrote:it is NOT hardcoded, I'm not sure how to do it, but I know it can be done. All Combined Arms did was get rid of sprint, increase jog to compensate and to allow the player to move in turn faster with the weapon shouldered.
I don't think otherwise that there is even a difference in speed between scoped and ironsights (aside from the reduced FOV making it perhaps seem slower), unless it's the ratio between sighted walked and sighted crouch walking speeds which seems different. :/

Care to explain how auto rifleman and marksman move slower then? That is, when they are deployed.

I'm not sure mcluv
for one thing, crouch and move forward with a scope rifle while scoped in, you literally move like a mime in slow motion
do same for ironsights, you move fast
and I'm pretty sure that in CA they made it the latter for the former

To be honest, it's one big..

when it comes to why it's slow for some, fast for others..

If the weapon is deployed, shouldered, scoped in, sighted, walkey-talkeyed out, or RMB, or more even secondary fired--while standing--the player moves slower than in the normal view/mode/whatever.
@Rudd. I know what you mean, when crouched and sighted in with a few weapons, you actually move faster than when not. That's odd, but I didn't think Cas or Alex had done anything with that yet.
