Commander Display Intelligence Points for INS
Commanders should be able to see their team's intelligence points for insurgency mode and the number of required points to be able to reveal the next cache. This can seriously influence commander strategies in terms of preparing more defense against attacks or to prepare your mobility. Possibly either a fractional display (EX: 15points of 30 or 15/30) or a bar that gradually fills up as intelligence is gained or is lost. This could be for blu-for only or for both factions. It would be much easier to decide the next set of goals for the team if the CO had some kind of indicator as to when the next cache will appear.

Hmm...interesting suggestion. I dunno, I think I like the game the way it is, so that the commander just has everyone on kill mode, then a cache pops up, and you can see his real organization skill.

remember that this is a "realism" game to a large extend, in real life you would not be able to see intel points because you never know when you will get intel for a weapon stockpile.
with flags it is different, you have an idea of when the flag is secured and it works as an indicator of possible battle status at the flag.

I think the OP meant something like... You kill someone you have some form of intel (which would be passed up the ranks to the commander). When you arrest someone, you interrogate them, thus getting extra intel points. The intel marker could be like a "Cross-Examination" progress -- and it could be updated every 5 minutes or so.[R-DEV]motherdear wrote:remember that this is a "realism" game to a large extend, in real life you would not be able to see intel points because you never know when you will get intel for a weapon stockpile.

The intelligence officers would be able to have a rough idea of where to hit, so I don't see the problem of knowing their progress... I'm not in real military, though.

I would love that, not sure if you and I are thinking the same thing, but I was thinking, and I'll just outline it, that every few minutes, a marker would appear on the map, lighter at first, and move around the map giving the rough location of the cache until you get enough intel points to reveal the correct general location. There could also be random markers at times, "false information" to try to throw you off. Not sure how "do-able" that is, though.goguapsy wrote:The intel marker could be like a "Cross-Examination" progress -- and it could be updated every 5 minutes or so.

I mean though, wouldn't forces generally have some idea when they are getting close to some kind of weapons deposit? Because usually people have to change entire plans when they get this intel. Wouldn't it make keeping teams concise easier for the blues when they know that they will have some sort of direction in the near future?

Hmm... Perhaps different-colored markers?Stoic Sentinel wrote:I would love that, not sure if you and I are thinking the same thing, but I was thinking, and I'll just outline it, that every few minutes, a marker would appear on the map, lighter at first, and move around the map giving the rough location of the cache until you get enough intel points to reveal the correct general location. Like, RED = 150m Aproximation
Amber = 300m Aproximation
Purple = 500m Aproximation
This would be interesting, as in, BLUFOR would be starting to set up an offensive position when they have the Purple Marker. When they get the Amber, they start setting up FOBs and organizing defences and inter-squad teamwork. When they get RED... Mission is a go!
