Recently been having a BIG problem with steam, I have a ticket open with them but i thought I would try posting here too
I bought AvP this morning and which requires steam for authentication, I have a steam account that I have been using for around 2-3 years and never had a problem with it. Until now.. I cannot log in AT ALL. After filling in my username and password it steam just hangs then windows tells me it's not responding and steam quits.
Now im getting super frustrated as I cant play AvP which I have just got and also about 10-15 other games I use through steam. I also cant connect in "offline mode" as my account details aren't saved.
What I have tryed:-
Restarting my PC
Running steam.exe as admin
Reinstalling (3 times two different downloads from steam and once from the AvP disc)
Uninstalling other programs (daemon tools,bittorrent ETC)
Deleting the ".BLOB" files as many other forums had said to do.
I don't know what else I can do HELPP MEEE!!!!
System Specs :-
OS - Windows 7 Home premium
CPU - Intel i7 920 @ 3.60GHz
GPU - ATI Radeon 5770 x2 (crossfire)
PSU - Corsair 750w (SLI Compliant)
RAM - 6gb Corsair DDR3

seemed to want to work after a 5th install
