Auto-Rifleman changes with .9

Post by Insanitypays »

Ive been playing PR since .85 (since last year)-and my all time favorite kit is the Automatic Rifleman. One of the changes that I noticed from .87 to .9 is the zoom in feature. in .87 when your Auto-Rifle is mounted, you would zoom in completely, when it wasnt mounted, you would prepare to shoot but you wouldnt zoom in. -I liked not looking through the scope but being able to control your accuracy because it allowed you to see the spread of your fire, I could then adjust it if I needed to making myself a bit more affective. Now in .9 if it is mounted or not you scope in. It would be nice to change that feature back to how it was in .87 for later releases of the mod.
Thanks,

The point of it is that in 0.87 the AR was something of an uber kit, with the squad limitations meaning only 2 people per squad required to have one and it's ability to own at close range through sheer rate of fire and accuracy when undeployed and win any firefight at long range when deployed.

The updates have made it less effective when in CQB, yet still able to defend yourself, whilst maintaining the realistic fire capabilites of the weapon at range.

With that in mind, I can't see it changing back.

i agree with jigsaw, the AR in 0.87 was stupidly effective against most things. even against BTR-60's :D

imo I'd actually prefer all scope weapons got the .87 capabilities, however I seem to be in the minority :P

that was a separate issue with incorrect materials on the vehicle :)

Right click when you request the kit for an unscoped version. You can do this with basically all the requestable kits :)

Unscoped auto rifleman is basically pwn. In .87 they combined the two, which wasn't really fair, since the auto rifleman kits still don't have the deviation of an assault rifle.

Oh no, don't get me wrong I would prefer all weapons to be like that; although again I can't see that happening. I was simply stating the reasons for the change.

That being said some changes would have to be made if it were done on LMGs again as it was simply too effective and imo even if all other weapons had the same "aim down the side" capability it would still be hugely overpowered due to the massive rate of fire and relatively controllable recoil.
