the map is 4kmx4km and theres not 1 single tank, also the terrain is very open but theres still lots of places to hide.... furthermore, whats the point of having the leopard if we cant even use it online ?

A few people, including me, wanted this back during the 0.9 development, but Deer and fuzz wanted a infantry focused 4km map. But I guess VW makes up for it.

Re: why no tank on yamalia ?
For me the map is hugely enjoyable without armour, so why fix what isn't broken? I think the decision was made to put the emphasis on VWM for this map, and indeed it works very well on Yamalia just like the infantry focused combined arms stuff works very well in normal AAS.

"I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for 12 hours. When it was all over, I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end... "

Re: why no tank on yamalia ?
Yamalia, a region of Russia in north-central Siberia, is very marshy and boggy, definately not tank friendly.
From what I can see, Yamalia is the simulation of a Canadian airborne/mechanized invasion, that would no doubt be done with APC's and not MBT's.
If it was a Russian invasion, it would be done with BMD-3's, but they aren't in the game yet unfortunately.

Mechanized or bust.PLODDITHANLEY wrote:Airborne infantry for the win - watch DB's vids!
We capped the US out on Silent eagle in 15 minutes while mechanized in a BTR-80A.
Speed is the key, I never waste time on the airborne spawns. Too slow.

Rush tactic is sad side-effect in AAS game mode :/dtacs wrote:We capped the US out on Silent eagle in 15 minutes while mechanized in a BTR-80A.

Re: why no tank on yamalia ?
Incorrect. We were attacking each flag that we were ready to attack as per normal, not ONCE did we get to a flag and attack it when it wasn't in play (had the orange attack symbol)clueless_noob wrote:Rush tactic is sad side-effect in AAS game mode :/
How did this happen without the US stopping us? Due to the sheer fact that:
A) They only have Bradleys at the start, no tanks.
B) By the time we cap our first flag, we are attacking their second flag. Thats like the MEC starting out with bunkers capped and attacking North Village. US never stand a chance at all.
Anyway getting a little off topic here, I might make a new centralized feedback discussion thread on Silent Eagle tomorrow.
