CTD on Load (PR 9.17)

I've been having problems with the most recent patch.

Specifically, I crash to desktop whenever I try to load the game.

That is to say, the PR loader window pops, the screen flashes black twice, then I crash to desktop.

Quite a few other people had this problem, and one person suggested running in windowed mode to see what the error was.

And so I have narrowed down the problem:

I have NO idea how to fix this error. Any and all help appreciated.

If it makes any difference, I don't even have a C:\dice etc. folder on my drive.


Edit: Also, regular BF2 no longer works (it did prior to installing the patch).
