Lately I have been having a lot of crashing. It usually happens about 10 minutes into the game or so. This crashing has the worst timing ever because right after I fix my PunkBuster problems this crashing comes up.
This is the error message I got after I played in windowed mode so I could get it.
Version: 1.5.3153.802.0 Build date 2009-8-20 17:8
Module: ParticleSystem
File:C:\dice\Projects\BF2Branches\Patch_1_50\Code\BF2\Geom\ParticleSystem\ParticleSystemRenderer.cpp
Line: 668
Text: Failed to lock
If this has anything to do with graphics card, RAM, processor or anything like that just let me know because at the end of this month I'm buying a new graphics card, RAM, processor, and motherboard. Could anyone please help?

Verify that your files are not corrupted:

I suggest you use a download manager like FDM, GetRight or FlashGet or a BitTorrent client like µTorrent or Azureus. Those programs are generally able to resume interrupted downloads and this way prevent data corruption. I believe they are essential for large downloads like the pr installers. Also you can use them to "resume" the corrupted download - this might have them redownlaod only the broken bits instead of the whole thing again.
I do not think it is hardware related however it can be related to a corrupted gfx driver too.

Re: Constant crashing (Error Message Inside)
µTorrent is not an installer, it is a program for file downloads.
I suggest redownloading and reinstalling, IF your files appear corrupted (i.e. MD5 sum not matching)
also make sure to check whether your BF2 patches are corrupted using the same method

Re: Constant crashing (Error Message Inside)
The BF2 Patch is probably what is corrupted because I had restarted my computer while it was downloading, so I'm just gonna reinstall. Thanks for your help. Also I know µTorrent isn't an installer I meant like downloading the files with it.

Re: Constant crashing (Error Message Inside)
Well, I reinstalled everything correctly and installed Project Reality using uTorrent and I still get the same error. There was no way the download could have been corrupted.
