Sniper Dectector

I found that the US Army and prob others have a fire dectector on hunveys and some worn clothed dectectors that can pin point the exact location of enemy fire. This could possibly be put in PR, although it would put more power into the Bluefur side.

The voice is very patriotic in the first vid XD
However, I think this won't be needed. Afterall, you can't hide on the terrain in the game at all... Engine limitations I think. Also, snipers are rarely a threat:
Muttrah City - Look at the hills, hotel roof and mosque roof. 9/10 times the sniper will be there somewhere.
Karbala - If you really get pin-pointed by an insurgent (or blufor) sniper, chances are they are on hotel roof, the sniper tower just south of the old US main compound...
You see what I mean, right?

gameplay > realism
Even though this would be cool (no clue how it would work) i doubt it would make much diffrence, and it takes away from gameplay.

Cool concept, but probably not possible with the game engine and I'm not disappointed with that. While it's a neat system, it would destroy the gameplay I think.

I don't think this is needed. It's already quite easy to find out where a sniper is.

This was on futureweapons.
Also, snipers feel very gimped to me so this would make stalking your way slowly into a position feel even less worth the 10 minutes of walking.

Detecting snipers in PR is only a matter of intention. If you are looking for them you can easily find because they mostly have no camouflage or hide.

Snipers are rarely a threat, often do they get threads though. This does seem like more effort than it's worth though, and a 6 man squad seldom has trouble locating a sniper firing on their position.

Like most of americas hardware this one originated in Germany too. It is an old idea. The father of my sisters boyfriend was part of a German unit whose only responsibility was to plant the equipment to detect mortar, Artillery fire. They used microfones and cables at the time, set miles apart from each other.
This must have been in the 60s. I am surprised the Americans did not have such units in Vietnam. But then again at the time they had a whole array of technological booty to plow through with higher priority, like what would later become the b2 bomber.

I think that this should be put into PR and also, if someone could design an intermitently flashing red and blue costume for snipers it would be awesome. Those snipers are allwais a tread! I mean a thread!

LOL fixed
And what Nimble said, we all opened fire on a sniper at 600m distance with AR and scopes. He never came back

I also think all riflemen should get heartbeat sensors because they are realistic

What do you mean ressugestion?! i checked the forums and the flashing intermitent red and blue sniper costume is my unique idea, its not a copy. I strongly support my idea. Oh, and if we could have smart bullets, that automatically find and direct to a target, it would make things even better.

You know, sometimes the search function doesn't work

Oh well.
And about smart bullets, that's unrealistic. Serisouly. HOWEVUR, smart mini-rockets ARE realistic. Anyone ever read this book/magazine?
Amazon.com: 21st Century Soldier: The Weaponry, Gear, and Technology of the Military in the New Century (9781931933162): Editors of Popular Science, Frank Vizard, Phil Scott: Books
I think the PR DEVs should strongly base-off this book, since we ARE in the 21st century afterall! And everything in that bookazine is "realistic"...
Smiddey723 wrote:I also think all riflemen should get heartbeat sensors because they are realistic
That's true. Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six is very CLEAR when showing how the Heartbeat sensor works. Should be GREAT in Beirut!
I also think the Mini-maps should be back! Come one! We ALL carry GPSs to war don't we?

omg, i can't believe it, i've been posting what i would consider unnecesary LOLs and this guy actually believes me. LOL We need no other improvements on the infy part. No rockets and no GPSes, we're good as we are.
