hamas and their guns

Post by martov »

hi guys, I noticed the guns that the hamas use in game, and I found a video where they say they manufacture their own granades, RPGs , land mines/IEDs, and short range missles (up to 9km)(artillery)

so I was thinking that we could put those things in-game

here is the video
Hamas Militants Training Video | SPIKE

they also seem to have notebooks :P

Love the EFP demonstration :) I have a friend in the forums who did a EFP model already, just like the one in this video, I could skin it.

All we need is a go from the DEV team.

On another note, please before judging these people, remember this is exactly how the Israelis won their terrorist campaign for Israel in the late 40's. As a mater of fact it is safe to say that these Israelis/IDF, enemies of Hamas terrorists, invented modern terrorism as we know it (bombing of king david hotel, British military, Train bombings, early 1948.)

(The strategic value of targeting civilians was recognized long before the 20th Century. Even if you want to talk about "modern" terrorism, the anarchists/nihilists of the very early 20th Century would likely be more prototypical.)

Yes but it was the first time that it was used systematically to successfully force another nation into accepting their terms. Hence why so many have tried later to get what they want from such methods. Massive bombings of civilian structures, transports and everyday lifestyle.

It is quite far from the "anarchist" state of mind, actually the exact opposite. It's systematic and based on public opinion and politics. With a great will for long term achievement.

Anarchists had long term goals in mind, too. ;)

Interestingly, the KDH bombing could be characterized as a legitimate target placed in a civilian location. The British gov't ostensibly ruled the area, and the military headquarters were there. It would be the same as targeting a Hamas HQ in a civilian office building.

I think it is fair to say that, whatever label may be applied to those fighting for Israel's modern formation, they were the first of very few to successfully use the tactics. Of course, a distinction can easily be made that it was after a "reformation" of the Irgun in such a way as to repudiate the attacks on civilians, that success was achieved. In essence, only when they gave up the "terrorism" did they "win."

Personally, I think Algeria is a better example as a prototypical modern terrorist success.

I think we can save the political history discussion for someplace else? :)

I think the color is a little different but that looks about right

I was surprised to see that they have a counter terror team in HAMAS

it was just to see how it would look, it's not textured, so the colors are just to see how it would roughly look

I wish you could kinda "randomize" the grenades to be different types and different colors. That way the hamas feel like more of a non-regulated force.

Yes.

Pink eastern-egg grenades.
