[?] Help with Drop Kits

Hey I am making a mod, mostly vanilla stuff right now, and I am trying to figure out how pick up kits (not the standard kits but spawned kits) work. I searched the maps on and guess they use some kind of object for it, but I can find that object when I search the rest of the server and client files. Same with PR, but I noticed PR uses the same name to spawn a pickup kit as the name of the kit. I tried this method on some kits I had and I get a CTD with no info on the error log, so I can only assume that BF2 will not spawn a bare kit via kit name and needs some sort of static object to act as a kit spawner?

just place some objectspawners (hmmwvs for example) then go to the GPO.con and replace the vehicle with the exact kit name for example us_at , or us_assault

Ah you can spawn kits! :smile: It seems the CTD was caused by a missing collision mesh.

Does any know how AIX managed to have random boxes to spawn a range of kits?

IE: support box that spawns different support kits.

After more understanding and some dissection, it looks like my memory was incorrect. AIX does not have a random kit spawner, per say, but they do have kits spawned. I think I was confused when the spawner's control changed and the kit changed to the other team, and I assumed it was a randomized kit spawner.

So now I just have to place a variety of kits on my maps to make my concept work.
