Hi All Out There!

When I Start PR It Starts Up

PR Begin Screen Comes
Bf2 Begin Screen Comes.

Than I Get 2 times A Black Screen. And It Shuts Down

AnyOne Know How To Solve This

Right click your PR shortcut. In the target section, change "+ fullscreen 1" to "+ fullscreen 0" Now the game will run in windowed mode and will give you and error when it crashes. Try run the game again and post what the error says.

if you open properties from pr shortcut,there is "target" and "start in" paths.
you could copy those and paste here.
maybe those are somehow wrong.
also could try to start pr from pr.exe in battlefield 2 mods/pr folder.

my friend had similar problem,but i guess it was cos he installed pr in other drive than default c.

It seems that I have the same issue.

Here is what I show in the properties of the pr shorcut.

My Target has this in it:
"F:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe"

My Start in has this in it:
"F:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr"

One other thing, I uninstalled everything including BF2.

Re-installed BF2 and started it, game runs fine I am able to join games and do whatever I want with the weapons and vehicles.

After installing PR, BF2 no longer loads either.

I get the PR screen, then the BF2 screen, then Black twice, then desktop.

One other thing that I did not mention, the first time I launch PR, it gives me an error during the BF2 screen. Says that I have changed my keymap, and it has been made to default. It tells me I can change it after the game starts.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

P.S. I did not change any default folder locations for BF2 or PR during installation or any time after that. Also I did not change any key mapping at any point.

Did you remember to update BF2 with:
FULL update 1.41
then the
Final v1.5
to finish your BF2 reinstall BEFORE you reinstalled PR?

Im getting this exact same issue. BF2 worked about 2 months ago, before I formatted.


Now that I want to play PR again, it just doesnt load after clicking the PR.exe

The PR splashscreen appears,
then the BF2 splashscreen,
then the screen flashes black and it goes back to desktop

Im running on Vista:

Intel Core 2 Duo T5550 @ 1.83 Ghz
Intel Express 965 graphics card (integrated)
3.00 GB Ram

I know my system isnt that great, its a laptop, but PR was working for well over a year.

I've done this but it the same symptoms appear, any advice?

-note, I have played .9 on this laptop and it worked fine. But I havent yet played .91


Edit - Never mind, reinstalled in the order and it would appear that my Installation was fooked the first time for BF2, it didnt automatically initiate Spec Ops install. Sorry

Hello. I have some trouble with PR, this has happend the two last times ive installed pr. i click on the icon and then it starts. The dogtags with PR comes up, then a smal screen telling me that PR is closing and the computer are trying to find the problem.
this also happens with BF2

this is how i installed BF/pr
1. bf2
2 update PB setub and the other
3. patch 1.41
4. patch 1.50
5 0917 (full)

I have vista 32 bit with 4 gb RAM, and XFX GeForece GTS 250 512 mb

If you still have trouble run battlefield cleaner to flush out your video cache files

Still no joy?

Trash your BF2 cache files
Path:
C:\Users\'your user name here'\Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache

Throw EVERYTHING inside the folder named cache away.
don't worry the files will be replaced with new ones when the game restarts.

Still CTD?

Some other things you can try before you uninstall/reinstall.
Backup your BF2 folder that's inside your documents folder.
Once you have a backup delete the original from your documents folder.
Try starting PR from your PR shortcut
a new default folder is created
link to your online account.
If all goes well (CTD gone) all you have to do to get your custom settings back
is copy your 'control' file from your backup to the new profile folder.
path:
C:\Users\your user name here\Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\0002
note: you may not have a 0002 folder so use 0001

Remember PR.917 needs to run @ 1024x768 or higher ( due to a missing screen font)

The problem could be that something is telling BF2 to load a resolution that your monitor or video card doesn't support. In my case it was my new widescreen LCD.

That "something" is actually 3 files in the "C:\Documents and Settings\[Your User Name]\My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles" directory. In that Profiles directory are 3 folders called 0001, 0002, and Default. Inside each of those 3 folders is a file called Video.con. You need to open each of those 3 Video.con files and search for the line that says "VideoSettings.setResolution 1280x960@75Hz". Change all 3 files to a resolution & refresh rate that you know the monitor and video card support, and BF2 should work like a champ again.
Example:
"VideoSettings.setResolution 1280x960@60Hz"

the two dog tags comes up then the 2 battlefield 2 icon then it back to detoscope then the screen blinks black twice

What can i do??? i could play PR 0.87or what it was and alle the other patches before) but i always got a problem with PB. and in "0.87" i could only play one map before i did go back to detoscope.

I Fixed This At My Mum's Place .. But I Moved Out .. And Now I Got The Same Problems ... And Dont Know How I Fix It .. The +fullscreen 0 Is Not Working .. i Hate It
