New member questions

Post by avguste »

Hello everyone

My apologies if I am posting in the wrong section, but couldnt figure where else to post.

My current unit 82nd Airborne 82ndusplb is involved in Bad Company 2. The EU side of our section is working great, however the North America side is not working at all.
As such I am looking at different options to grow our North America side and one of those options is Project Reality.
So I do have a few questions:

1. what is the population within the Project Reality Mod?

2. how is recruitment?

3. what is the percentage of North America vs EU players?

4. Is there a US faction?

Thank you

Firstly, welcome.

1. currently (16:40 UK time) there are 8 servers with 50+ people:

PRSPY - server and player browser and tracker for Project Reality - create a buddy list - launch PR directly

2. Clans recruit here:

PR Clans - Project Reality Forums

There are alot of players (and alot of NA players) so i assume recruitment is fine.

3. here is a fairly old poll of countries within PR community:

https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f10-pr ... -come.html

As you can see, Americans are the majority at-least on the forums.

1. On average you will find about 4 or so servers full at peak hour around your timezone (North America/EU)

2. There are ALOT of clans out there, some realism based with rank structures etc. and some other ones just social groups.

3. Hard to determine, since they play at different times (only by a couple of hours though)

Welcome,

Loads of people visit these forums everyday. I would wager a guess that at least 1000 people are actively playing the Mod.

Not sure what you mean by recruitment? If you mean becoming part of the team then chances are slim unless you have skills, if you are inquire about looking for people to join your clan then you can find plenty of interested people.

I think the percentage of EU v NA players is about even, maybe a tad bit biased towards the EU side.

If you have any specific questions feel free to PM me.

Thank you for the all the responses.

I will check all the links.
Nothing is official as I would need to get my superiors approval on this one.

Also, what is the situation with servers?which companies provide Reality servers?

Thank you

Thats because they are already in game, and where developed by the DEVs not the community. Community factions are factions being developed by community members (not DEVs) that will feature in the mod in future (IDF and Russians where both community mods, now in game.)

But yes, US forces are featured in 2 factions (US marines and US army) with unique weapons and vehicles .

Official Server Provider:

alpha networks - raw power at your command - Dedicated Servers - Game Servers

This is what the US Army currently ingame looks like, the screenshot above is old

You can play PR as long as you have original battlefield 2, expansion packs are not necessary.

Yes, if you have the Complete Collection, it will work. With that version you have linked it will ask you what expansions you want to install along with the original BF2 game.

^ Yep, and after installation and auto-patching to 1.4, you have to download the 1.5 patch to get it up to date before you install PR.
