But instead of deraling his thread i created a separate one, wich is indeed more question than suggestion.
First of all, is it possible to change the drawing distance of the undergrowth?
If not, then you have the bottom suggestion instead.
Second is, is it possible to change LODs on the undergrowth like on the models?
If both are possible then you could implement the ArmA grass system, close up, normal grass like now, further away the LOD changes to a flat texture, raised from the ground just a bit higher than the grass.

Second idea would be the the same ArmA system, but "reversed", so primary there is undergrowthg covered with the "low poly" fields with wich the primary LOD would be actually nothing, but on the border when undergrowth doesnt draw, it would appear as a raised low poly flat dome (so it isnt rectangular), serving the same function as the suggestion above, though this one requires the mapper to do some hard work.
That would be all, i hope you get what i want to say.
