Modify kashan desert airfields

I love kashan. But on public servers there's always the random *** who pumps an AP into your helo while sitting on the landing pad, or blows you up with some AA missles on the pad....
Maybe if the base was re-organized a little bit, so that the landing pads were say, behind a hangar, it would stop this issue from happening..

Or have the Carrier defense collision mesh attached?

Mains shouldn't be in play unless they are designed to by the mapp[er (which they weren't for Kashan, there's no longer a flag in play there). The use of the Rhino's projectile collision mesh would be logical.

I think he was referring to enemy players.

If you sare talking about enemys pumping Rounds into you... i say increase the Dome of death so that the airfield is out of view.

I think thats why the foward flag is available for enemies to capture the airfield instead of actualy entering the Base.

Yeah, check this out. We were playing on Beiruit and jumped into an Mi-8 to get to land and got nailed by an SAM before we even got off the deck of the ship.

Yes, AA can lock onto the choppers on the ship In Beruit. Had twice when I got locked on near the city causing AA to hit my squad mates chopper and kill it twice while he was on the ship, then again later on when both of us were on the ship we started receiving lock on tones and he got blown up a third time.

its an easy fix to use the carrier defence screen, I'm sure it'll be done asap.

Yeah i was in that game as israel there was alot of complaints about that.

Technically this is a problem with teams, would it be so hard to ground helis until the AA is taken out?

Don't use DoDs, just use the carrier defense. Rudd knows what I'm talking about, and we used it on Desert Rats and it worked well.

yeah there are two tow launchers and a few VADS and Stinger pods laying around.

U try getting a squad to sit in the base on all the defensive weaponry though.

On kashan the problem is asshats intentionally main raping with tanks etc. more than once the sight of 3 dead helos on the pad and other vehicles in main have been seen by me from a tank...

Please don't increase the DoD on any maps near the mains, they just cut down the already limited playing area. Like other have said just use the system that is on the carriers now that block incoming rounds and make anything inside that dome invinsible from outside fire. This would save most problems without cutting play ara down on maps like kashan where those hills can be used to flank the defending team inbetween their main and the flag. Another map where the DoD is very limiting is Archer, There is a large area to the west of the canadian main where only long range fire can hit you, not close range fighting like what the taliban specialize at. These areas where the canadians are protected from close in flanking also overwatch on cache positions in the Western village just below the large hill in approx a5.

Look.. people..

We don't need domes of death or magic carrier defense guns manned by 6 people to stop projectiles. There's an invisible shield that can be put up by the mapper that blocks incoming projectiles but not movement/vehicles.


Also, Blackwatersaxon, we're talking about baserape here :P

...That's what the carrier defense system is, when rudd and I refer to it.

Oh, I know, which is why I'm maintaining that it's a team problem, if a side is stupid enough to allow themselves to be base raped, then I'm sorry, but they kinda deserve it.

I still think it's stupid there's a limit to how close the insurgents can move into friendly areas, especially when the BLUFOR intentionally stay inside there with their optics, same people probably whine about baseraping on here.

In short, if your team is stupid enough to get raped, you deserve everything you get.

Add shields around every main base, as well as a dome of death on the outside of that shield so people don't baserape? =\
