PR.exe wont start - nothing happens

Problem:
When I start pr.exe, whether through the shortcut or from the exe itself, nothing happens. The UAC window pops up and I click allow, then nothing happens.

Looking at the processes list, dllhost.exe appears for 1-2 seconds and then dissapears. Nothing else happens.

Vanilla BF2 and Forgotten Hope 2 work fine, so BF2 patching must be correct

prError.log appears in the PR mod folder, entries look like this:

Methods tried:
- Reinstall PR
- Reinstall BF2 & PR + delete all cache & profile files
- Download PR from my friend, who had it working, reinstall again. BTW I downloaded from torrents so files shouldn't be corrupt, but I was desperate.

- Reinstall .NET framework 3.5
- Install .NET framework 4.0

- Shortcut tips and some other tips in the PR.exe problems -thread.
- Tried all the tips given in this thread, no help. ps. didn't want to revive a couple months old thread.

so your bf2 is first patched to 1.41 and then to 1.50?
also run pr as admin?

this is quote from pr installation guide by ancientman...

"There are sometimes problems encountered if you install into a different path from the default install path dictated by the BF2 and PR installers. For ease of use, we recommend installing BOTH BF2 and the PR install into the default paths denoted in each installer"

have you changed maybe the installation directory?
(my friend had that problem)

Welcome to the forums!

Try to install all updates from Windows Update. If there are updates that requires reboot, then re-check available updates after you have rebooted your computer. Rinse and repeat till your system is up to date.

Yes, patching is correct. I'll state again, that vanilla BF2 and all other BF2 mods (such as Forgotten Hope 2) work correctly, and they wouldn't if the patching was incorrect. 1.41 first then 1.5. I am running them as admin aswell and XP support.

I have installed to different directories, I keep all my games in one folder (not under program files). So is there like a known error in PR that it looks in the wrong folder? My PR folder is like this:
C:\Games\Battlefield 2\mods\pr
