[?] Scales?

Post by Drunkenup »

I was wondering if when exporting there was some sort of scale of which you can make your model larger or smaller in the editor, if not does anyone know of a tool that helps rescale your models in 3ds max?

Once models are exported there is no way to rescale them.

For rescaling in 3DsMax, well...
Let me google that for you

So theoretically I can just keep resizing and re-exporting it til I'm satisfied?

Not even theoretically in fact, it's quite possible and proven. However, best choice would be to figure out the correct dimensions either mathematically or by importing a similar object from PR/BF2 and resizing accordingly.

Yes, it's more or less what BloodBane said. Import existing models and see if your object is at the same size.

What I've been told to do is to make a box with the size of the object you're working on (provided your system unit is the meter, yes I know, it's bad for American people to work with meters, but it appears that inches fubarded the scale of many models...), and see if your object matches at least two axes (X,Y,Z), if it doesn't, resize your model and don't forget to reset your scale after that.

you find the real length, height, width etc of your model, make a box of that size, then fit your model into that box. If its modelled correctly then if you line up one of thous areas, all the other areas should fit in fine.
